Jenna Muyres Pruner/ Art of Curly This is where I share what new art projects I'm working on and new items that I am adding to my Etsy That has made art very important in my life. .

As a child and an adult the way that I process information is strongly linked to images. I am interested in helping others explore the significance that art can have in their life by creating pieces that speak to their more personal experiences. A loved one here or gone. A significant day. A place or time with significance to them. To create a piece of art that speaks to the heart. I work from pho

tos but can alter them to include items of importance or exclude undesirable elements. Paint out an ugly background, add wings to your little angel or fairie. Turn your little girl into the princess she knows she is. Or simply emphasize a favorite colour. My hope is to make the piece a collaboration and create a work of art that speaks to your heart.

Working on some printmaking. I don’t love this material for carving so I’m looking forward to working with good old fashioned linoleum next. It’s good catharthis to carve something up when you’re frustrated and angry.

The last day of our trip has been extraordinary so far. We woke up in Fairmont. Had breakfast and on our way to Banff to meet up with our girls we saw mountain goats, which usually don’t come down from the mountain sides and a Black Bear….and lots of deer. The Black bear began across the road in front of us but when he made eye contact with Jim in the drivers seat he turned back around and ran for the woods 😂 After Sam finished her shift we went to the Glyde Hall to see the art show where both Poppy and Samina’s paintings were being shown. Not everyone gets to say they exhibited at the Banff Center For the Arts. I’m super proud of them and I think the world is lucky to see their art ❤️

After waking up outside Portland we drove for a bit until we were in Washington. We kept driving past really cool rock formations alongside the Columbia river to the city of Spokane where we’re so graciously received by our friends the founders of VATA 7 who allowed us to park our sprinter inside their awesome shop for the night. We had long overdue showers and then went out for dinner and got a custom tour of their beautiful city. Spokane is a really interesting place with lots of exceptionally well maintained historic buildings and gorgeous parks. I really think it’s one of the prettiest cities I’ve seen.

Beach number 3 yesterday was the one that we camped at. It was a lively place full of people who know. We were 5mins too late to buy campfire wood. Luckily we saw a camper that had a huge pile and generously offered us some so we could have a campfire to roast hotdogs. They said they had been camping there for something like 50 years, and definitely win the prize for the friendliest people we’ve met on our trip. When we went back with the van to get the wood we traded them a bottle of the best maple syrup for their oak firewood. It was a good trade.

After leaving Mona Utah we drove “America’s loneliest highway” highway 50. There was a lot of empty expanses cut through with very straight roads , but I wasn’t lonely with Jim and Boomer there. We drove and drove until we reached Fernley Nevada. We stayed the night at a truck stop. It was a noisy sleep but we were so tired it didn’t matter. Our bed is comfy anywhere 🙂.

Day 10 -part- after our failed attempt to see the potash lakes we came across a hike staging point for bow tie arch and corona arch (Utah has a lot of really cool arch landscape features). We weren’t sure how far we would make it because we were starting to get into the hot part of the day. Sure enough we made it about halfway before boomer started to whimper and I was concerned about the return hike for myself. It was worth it though. We got far enough to see some really really beautiful stuff including some arches. And then we very much appreciated the air conditioning. The dash shows 39.5 degrees but the moment before I snapped it said 40 degrees. It got hot enough Jim ended up having to let air out of the tires to make the tire pressure sensor happy again.

Day 10 - part 1- in the morning we woke up and got going before the realy hot part of the day. We were headed for something called the potash lakes but it turns out it was inaccessible (legally) so we didn’t get there. It’s ok though because we saw some really cool stuff along the way. The first stop we made was at the petroglyphs. It was a realy cool art history stop for me. My favorite is the realy big guy with antenae and the centipede. There was absolutely beautiful scenery on the drive too.

Day 9-part 2- after making some sandwiches in Amitas Colorado we continued to drive towards Utah. It was interesting to see the landscape change from lush mountains to dry desert abruptly. Our target was Moab and we were well rewarded for that. We stopped at Wilson’s Arch and surveyed the plains below. I was very entertained by all the strange rock formations that rise out of the flat dry desert of Utah. At the end of our day we stopped at a really nice KOA and did laundry, cooked a steak dinner (and boomers food) and enjoyed the full moon (which wouldn’t co operate for a picture but made the clouds pretty) it was a fun day for sure.
