Serowe UCCSA Church in 1950. It was built by the London Missionary Society (LMS) in 1912. Matsapa regiment provided the required labour - moving sandstone blocks from quarries near present day Botalaote ward to the construction site where they were turned into bricks.

We invite Culture, History, Heritage and Tourism related groups for a benchmarking expedition along Heritage Sites of Shoshong, Kalamare, Mokgware and Old Palapye near Malaka. The highlights of this expedition will be storytelling evening at Shoshong and a cultural night commemorating Ratsie Setlhako at Mokgware village.

Khama The Great Trek Heritage Walk.

This year the trek will be pioneered by professional hikers only. The public can join the hikers and morafe at the launch in Shoshong as well as a cultural evening session that is being organised at Mokgware village in honour of Gammangwato's legendary music icon, Ratsie Setlhako wa Ponto le Sheleng .

From Kgosi Kgamane Thanksgiving Celebration Organisers

The abrupt and unceremonious retirement of Kgosi Sediegeng Kgamane in April 2022 did not avail an opportunity to host a befitting farewell ceremony in his honour due to the prevailing political climate at the time.

Recognising Kgosi Kgamane's sterling performance as the longest serving Regent in the history of Bamangwato (34 years, from 1988 to 2022), a befitting Thanksgiving and Appreciation Celebration is being organised for *Saturday 6th September 2025 at Serowe Main Kgotla.*

It is expected that this ceremony will attract over 5000 people including 150 dignitaries led by Head of State.

The budget for this event is P500,000. 00 and there is no direct source of funds apart from generous contributions of members of the community and of course the business community.

A Steering Committee comprising of multiple relevant committees is overseeing the organisation of this event.

We count on your timely generous contributions to make this event a success in the true spirit of Ipelegeng.

The Royal Palace where Kgosi Khama III lived at Phalatswe from 1889 - 1902. Unlike his son Sekgoma Khama who lived in a modern brick house at Phalatswe, Kgosi Khama III refused to build a European houses in his home. This trend continued at Serowe until his people forced him to adopt modern architecture at Kgosing. That is how the Green House where Kgosi Sediegeng Kgamane lived was built.

Bagammangwato Royal Palace at Phalatswe (Old Palapye, near present day village of Malaka) from 1889 -1902. Kgosi Khama III lived in these roundavels with his family.
