We’ve always believed that the best learning doesn’t have to happen within four walls.

Some of our favourite memories have been created around an open fire; preparing fresh ingredients, cooking together, sharing stories, and enjoying meals under the open sky.

As we begin this new chapter in Maun, we’re excited that our new kitchen includes a dedicated outdoor cooking space, where we’ll bring these experiences to life once again.

Whether we’re cooking indoors or stepping outside, our goal remains the same: to inspire creativity, build confidence, and create unforgettable memories through food.

The next chapter begins with laughter, little hands, and lots of delicious adventure.

Our holiday camps are finally here, and we can’t wait to welcome children into our new kitchen in Maun.

Whether your child is taking their first steps into the kitchen with KinderCooks or is ready for exciting culinary adventures with our Junior Chefs Holiday Camps, there’s something special waiting for them.

Through cooking, baking and plenty of fun, children will build confidence, explore their creativity, make new friends, and create memories that will last long after the holidays are over.

Our Story

Every great journey begins with a simple idea.

Ours began with a belief that food is so much more than what we eat.

It’s a powerful way to bring people together, spark creativity, build confidence, and teach skills that last a lifetime.

Our kitchen became a place where children discovered confidence, families created lasting memories, schools embraced learning in new ways, and adults rediscovered the joy of creating something with their own hands.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming countless children, families, schools, and adults through our doors; through weekly classes, birthday parties, holiday camps, school programmes, team-building experiences, and so many other memorable moments. Every smile, every recipe, and every shared meal has shaped who we are today.

As we begin this new chapter in Maun, our purpose remains the same:

To create experiences that inspire curiosity, nurture creativity, and bring people together through food.

This is our story.

Why Maun?

Sometimes, life has a way of taking us exactly where we need to be.

A few years ago, I relocated to Maun to begin a new chapter as a Special Education Teacher. It was a decision driven by purpose, but it also meant being far away from the kitchen that had become the heart of Nqoosa in Gaborone.

Over time, Maun became more than the place where I worked, it became home. Through the people I’ve met, the community I’ve become part of, and the experiences I’ve had, I realised this is exactly where Nqoosa’s next chapter belongs.

So, we’re not just opening a kitchen—we’re planting new roots.

We’re creating a space where children, families, schools, visitors, and the wider community can gather to learn, create, and connect through food.

Thank you, Maun, for welcoming me with open arms. I’m excited for Nqoosa to become part of this incredible community.

These smiles remind us why we started, and they’re the reason we’re excited to begin again—right here in Maun.

We can’t wait to welcome you into our new home.

We’ve been quiet…

Last August, we made the difficult decision to close our kitchen and take a step back.

It wasn’t the end of our story.

Sometimes, the most meaningful growth happens in the quiet moments; when we pause, reflect, learn, and reimagine what’s possible.

Over the past year, we’ve been dreaming, planning, and preparing for a new chapter.

More than anything, we’ve missed the sound of laughter around the table, little hands proudly creating something new, conversations shared over food, and the beautiful moments that reminded us why Nqoosa exists.

Food has always been our way of bringing people together, inspiring creativity, and building confidence. That purpose has never changed.

Today, we’re excited to tell you that we’re coming back.

This time, we’re beginning a new chapter in Maun.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to believe in us, encourage us, and ask, “When is Nqoosa coming back?”

We’re almost ready to welcome you home.
