The Handicrafts Association of Bhutan (HAB) is proud to be part of the launch of the Punakha Future Path: Regenerative Tourism Master Plan during the inaugural Fertility Festival at Chimi Lhakhang.
The Master Plan translates Bhutan’s national vision of regenerative tourism into practical action at the local level. It envisions a tourism sector that not only generates economic opportunities, but also regenerates the culture, communities, environment, and traditions that sustain it.
The tourism products and experiences identified in the plan are designed around this regenerative approach, ensuring that tourism gives back more than it takes. The Plan also promotes creative and collaborative business models, alongside an inclusive governance framework that strengthens partnerships between government, civil society organizations, the private sector, and local communities.
HAB provided technical and financial support to Punakha Dzongkhag through the Voice for Green Change Partnership (V4GCP) funded by the European Union.
