🙏🏼✨In every heartbeat of our nation endures the spirit of a King who stood steadfastly with his people through moments of triumph and war alike.

On the auspicious occasion of the 70th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck, we offer our deepest reverence and gratitude to a Monarch whose devotion, wisdom, and foresight have shaped the destiny of our nation.

His Majesty’s compassion continues to shelter us; his vision continues to guide Bhutan’s journey forward. Out of boundless love for his people, His Majesty, in 2006, relinquished absolute authority to usher in a new era of hope- an act of unparalleled foresight and selflessness.

We remain eternally grateful for His Majesty’s sacrifices and the exemplary path of leadership he has bestowed upon us, one grounded in humility, service, and profound love for the nation.

Forever revered. Forever our guiding light. 🙏🏼✨

✨ It is with immense gratitude that we bring this Bhutan Echoes Drukyul’s Literature and Arts festival 2025 to a close. This years theme “The Great Fourth’s Wisdom of Balance: Harmonizing Heritage, Nature and the Human Spirit” honored three decades of His Majesty Jigme Singye Wanghcuck, the Great Fourth’s mindful vision in sustaining Bhutan’s culturel heritage while thoughtfully guiding modernity and environmental preservation.

🌸 This year was especially notable as we celebrate the 70th Birth Anniversary of not just the Great Fourth but also His Holiness the Je Khenpo Trulku Jigme Choeda and our Beloved Royal Patron Her Majesty the Queen Mother Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, a pioneer and greatest supporter of literature and arts in Bhutan.

📚 To celebrate such a momentous occasion, the festival itself was on a grander scale than ever before with a total of 88 speakers of 14 nationalities engaging in 32 thought provoking discussions and conducting stimulating workshops. This year also marked the largest number of book launches at the festival with a total of 10 from both Bhutanese and international authors. This festival was also significant as for the first time all sessions, workshops, open mic and most film screenings were held at the RUB venue for a lively atmosphere.

🙏 Our heartfelt thanks to all our Speakers, Partners, Sponsors, Friends of the Festival, Vendors, and Volunteers—your support made this celebration of words, wisdom, and creativity a resounding success!

💛 This year, on the 70th Birth Anniversary of the Great Fourth, His Majesty King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, Bhutan Echoes: Drukyul’s Literature & Arts Festival 2025 celebrated the theme “The Great Fourth’s Wisdom of Balance: Harmonizing Heritage, Nature, and the Human Spirit.”

✨ We honoured the Great Fourth’s mindful vision in sustaining Bhutan’s cultural heritage while thoughtfully guiding modernity and environmental preservation. This legacy lives on in our harmony with nature, our rich traditions, and in the leadership of His Majesty the Fifth King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, as he leads Bhutan into the 21st century.

📖 This year’s festival was unique- taking place not only at the Royal University of Bhutan grounds, but also in schools nationwide through the Storytelling Project, a heartfelt collaboration with the Tarayana Foundation to capture and preserve stories and memories of the Guardian of our Nation, the Great Fourth.

👩‍🏫 From Babesa HSS (Thimphu) to Mendrelgang CS (Tsirang), Taba Dramtoe PS (Samtse) to Tshaphel MSS (Haa), students watched the animated video featuring the words of Her Majesty the Queen Mother Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, shared stories of the Great Fourth, and performed dances and poetry to commemorate the occasion. This ensures that the Great Fourth’s legacy is not just in the history books but lives on in the minds and hearts of Bhutan’s youth 🙏🇧🇹

08/08/2025

💛 In the lead up to Bhutan Echoes , we shared a video where our Royal Patron Her Majesty the Queen Mother Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck announced the Storytelling Project celebrating the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck.

✨ Taken from Her Majesty’s personal stories and recollections shared in that video, we are proud to share the read-aloud illustrative book that was first shown to the audience at this year’s DLAF.

📖 Narrated by a young Bhutanese, this first story serves as a foundation of our nation wide Storytelling Project- a heartfelt national initiative to capture and preserve stories and memories of the Guardian of our Nation, the Great Fourth and commemorates His Majesty’s 70th Birth Anniversary.

👦 This collaborative effort, led by Bhutan Echoes with support from the Tarayana Foundation, will feature young storytellers- students from every gewog across the country as they share personal and community reflections of His Majesty’s impact and legacy. 🙏🇧🇹

07/08/2025

✨ Day 3 of DLAF 2025 and the curtain closes on another memorable festival! Powered by the India Bhutan Foundation, the three day festival was our biggest yet with 88 speakers from 14 countries who engaged in 32 sessions, 8 workshops and 10 book launches.

🇧🇹 This year’s theme “The Great Fourth’s Wisdom of Balance: Harmonizing Heritage, Nature and the Human Spirit” honors the visionary leadership and profound wisdom of His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck.

🙏 The 14th edition of the festival also marked the 70th Birth Anniversary’s His Holiness the Je Khenpo, His Majesty the Great Fourth, and our very own Beloved Royal Patron Her Majesty the Queen Mother of Bhutan Gyalyum Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck. 💛✨💛

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the festival. You can find all the sessions you may have missed on our page 💻
