Calling all African American Allies! One of our founding partners is an African American living and working in the Bahamas. She also has family in Osogbo, Nigeria, who have helped her become the woman she is today. Having been with her Bahamian husband 21 years and sharing 2 beautiful children with him, she is passionate about bridging the connectedness of her American, Caribbean, and African families. Let us UNITE in our collective economic power today!

This album right here!!! I stumbled upon it months ago while searching for a song I heard in .ill_cutz’s chair. I never found the song I was looking for, but found exactly what my spirit needed. That’s how the universe works. We’re surrounded by vessels, but rarely acknowledge the purpose or impact of those vessels. Through my barber’s chair, I inadvertently found a kindred spirit of CHANGE in her AND the artist she unknowingly led me to. I discovered that a woman “across the pond” and I are kindred spirits of connectedness. Of self-awareness. Of global awareness. Of HUMAN awareness.

Few people understand the powerful mind of an introvert. And many of us introverts never get to fulfill our purpose on Earth because we never learn to match our internal power externally. This young woman, , gave me just the encouragement I needed to rock my internal power on my external skin. Life is deep. Enjoy the beach party on shore, but don’t get so distracted that you never get to see the beauty and mystery that lies in the depths of the ocean.

As you live your life, . Just do you. BE you. The rest will fall into place. 💯

During the 2022 Thanksgiving weekend, VAD was a proud sponsor of Idinleke Atlanta’s 2nd Annual Egungun Festival in Atlanta, GA. Egungun Festivals are a West African tradition dedicated to honoring our ancestors and building community.

Without their shoulders to stand upon, we would have no foundation to build on. Without knowing them, we can never truly know ourselves.

Learning our ancestors' names and acknowledging their identity is not specific to any spiritual or religious belief. It's critical to understanding our OWN identity.

On Thursday, November 24, 2022, Idinleke Atlanta, Inc. hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for one very specific purpose - to honor our ancestors. Why? Well, withou...
