Congratulations to Toronto-based Bahamian artist and The Current artist roster member Veronica Dorsett () on her participation in When Angels Speak of Love, a group exhibition presented by Armova Curatorial () and inspired by bell hooks’ All About Love.

On view at 2104 Dundas Street West, Toronto, from June 12–28, 2026, the exhibition explores love as a transformative force rooted in care, healing, and collective liberation.

Veronica’s collages Instructions For Care I & II reflect on intergenerational caregiving through the familiar ritual of Vicks VapoRub, honoring the enduring acts of love that connect family across time.

We are proud to see her work included in this thoughtful and timely exhibition.

Now on view: The Things We Carry, a two-person exhibition by Kendra Frorup and Averia Wright.

Created for Transforming Spaces 2026: Chasing Light, this exhibition explores cultural memory as something inherited, preserved, and carried through generations. Through assemblage, sculpture, painting, weaving, sewing, printmaking, and preservation, both artists transform materials connected to Bahamian life into contemporary heirlooms that speak to history, healing, labor, and home.

The gallery becomes a space of remembrance and renewal—where native plants, woven forms, cast objects, and found materials illuminate the stories, traditions, and knowledge we choose to carry forward.

On view at The Current Gallery (Rotunda Shops) through June 28th, 2026. Admission is free and open to the public.

Operating Hours:
Sunday–Tuesday: 10 AM–6 PM
Wednesday: 11 AM–6 PM
Thursday–Saturday: 10 AM–10 PM

The Current is proud to present The Things We Carry, a duo exhibition by Bahamian artists Kendra Frorup and Averia Wright, created for Transforming Spaces 2026: Chasing Light.

On view May 30 – June 28, 2026 at The Current Gallery (Rotunda Shops), the exhibition brings together new works that explore cultural memory as something inherited, preserved, and carried through generations. Through assemblage, sewing, printmaking, weaving, sculpture, and preservation, Frorup and Wright transform native fruits, medicinal plants, raffia, burlap, found objects, and cast materials into layered contemporary heirlooms rooted in Bahamian histories, traditions, healing practices, and everyday life.

Drawing from memories of farming, craft making, and the textures of home, these works reflect on the stories, materials, and knowledge we carry forward. In dialogue with this year’s TS theme, Chasing Light, the exhibition considers light as a force of renewal and recognition — illuminating the ways cultural memory continues to endure through objects, traditions, and shared experience.

Experience the exhibition during the Transforming Spaces 2026 art bus tour weekend on May 30–31. Tour tickets are available via nagb.org.bs. For more information visit .

Join us again for the exhibition’s closing reception on June 25th from 6PM – 8PM.

Still reflecting on an incredible week at 1-54 New York. 🤍

We are so grateful to have been part of the conversation this year, sharing the works and practices of Bahamian artists Kendra Frorup and Maxwell Taylor with such an engaged international audience. The week was filled with meaningful exchanges, new connections, familiar faces, and moments that reminded us why this work matters so deeply.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, spent time with the artists and works, and supported The Current throughout the fair. We are leaving this experience feeling inspired, proud, and excited for what continues to grow from these conversations and connections.
