The William C. Allen Gallery at the Central Bank of The Bahamas is pleased to present the upcoming solo exhibition of works on paper by Dave Smith.

The show displays a new body of striking graphite drawings anchored in the social commentary for which Smith is widely known.

Dave Smith (b. 1944) relocated to The Bahamas in the pivotal year of 1973, coinciding with the country’s Independence. Over the course of 17 years, Smith served as a dedicated arts educator and became an important figure in the local creative community. In 2011, he presented a selection of his paintings in a solo exhibition at the Central Bank. Today, Smith divides his time between Los Angeles and Nassau.
