Group is specifically for 18-35 year olds and is where the young adults in the Freeport Players Guild take the reins and actively guide all aspects of their functions, productions and development as performers on the stage, technicians behind
the scene and as administrators of their own Board of directors . Working side by side with veterans of the Freeport Players Guild, the youth are given the chance to choose and to create their own productions and explore and learn about all aspects of theatre from acting and diction, to singing and dancing, writing, directing and producing to more hands on and technical aspects such as audio, lighting and scenic design and engineering. Along with the transmission and strengthening of theatre culture, ethics, love and passion for the art, Y.A.R.D.'s other purpose is to foster the social aspect of theatre and the comradery and bonding that always occurs during a production. One of the best traditions of the theatre is hanging out after a meeting, rehearsal and show and the laughs and good times that is had after the hard work is done and many lifelong friendships have been forged within the theatre walls.
