TranslaCAT begun with Christiane Jost alone, working as a freelance translator in parallel with her full time job in Brasília. She quit that job and came to Teresópolis to work in a huge localization project, where she met Daniel Zandonadi. He also left behind a regular job moved by his desire of becoming a professional translator. They shared many smoking breaks at the building garage and became friends. Both studied Design together at Rio de Janeiro and loved games. A friend in common called them to work on the project — in which they engaged whole-heartedly. This passion was inevitably noticed by Chris and Daniel. Months later, Fábio and André proposed a partnership with Chris and Daniel. TranslaCAT was then set: Chris with technical expertise and incredible production, Daniel as creative bastion and language reference, Fábio with remarkable management skills and André as a talent in translation and powerful fac-totum capabilities. Those are the four pillars upon which our work is being continually built: precision, creativity, organization and innovation. We are now a team with 10 translators, 5 proofreaders, 2 project managers and 4 lead linguists able to deliver translation and proofreading jobs in text, audio, dubbed video and other media. We work with main industry CAT tools and can take any job from ground zero. Most of our jobs are from the IT, games and automotive fields, but we are capable of delivering jobs on virtually any subject. We feel more than motivated by new challenges and more than satisfied to deliver the quality our customers need.
