I built this web-based drum machine for the Figma Makeathon to spark quick beat ideas and help anyone stuck by adding a randomizer for various grooves.

✨ Features:

• 🎲 Random pattern generator (genre-aware)
• 🥁 16-step sequencer + 5 custom drum kits
• 🎼 MIDI export to keep the magic flowing

🔀 Flow:

Choose a kit → tap out steps → tweak tempo or time signature → export your groove.
Best experienced on desktop for the full interface.

The past few weeks have shed light on what the Black American community has been saying for years.

Some of us have been receiving heartfelt messages of support and even apologies for the decades that our warnings over the years fell on our friends’ deaf ears.

///

When whiteness presents itself as ‘authority’ anything that challenges this notion is viewed as a threat to that authority and often spun as an actual threat the ‘personal safety’.

///

When Black Athletes speak up, they’re told- “shut and dribble”.

///

It’s like they’re watching their reality crumble and as a result they have an identity crisis because they’ve over-indexed their identity on the ‘authority’ whiteness.

///

Oh...also worked for the NFL for 3 years - 2008-2011 - as a full-time designer when I lived in LA.
