Pura is based in real facts!
NADJA MITIDIERO is a survivor. The actress and producer was a victim of rape in two assaults. At age 17 she went through shame and a quiet period of depression. But when the same thing happened twenty years later she tried to do it differently. The pain and humiliation, the horrible feeling of having her intimacy violated, her body objectified, and impunity did not make her life easier. She reported it, told the events to her family that supported her immensely, but that didn't stop deep sadness and suicidal thoughts from being part of her life. Time has been one of her best friends. Time and work. Only work managed to get her out of bed, she was "under the duveit" as she says. And so, Nadja decided to do her part and try to prevent other people from going through the same horrible experiences. Her tool is the cinema, the image, the well-told story that thrills and inspires, that instigates and dare the status quo, but that is necessary. It is through films that Nadja seeks to challenge gender stereotypes and our current culture. Although wounded by men she carries no hard feelings. Nadja believes in the good of humans, in their ability to be better every day.

NADJA MITIDIERO é uma sobrevivente. A atriz e produtora, infelizmente, foi mais uma das milhares vítimas de estupro, além de dois assaltos. Aos 17 anos ela passou pela vergonha, medo e depressão calada. Mas, quando a mesma coisa aconteceu vinte anos depois ela procurou fazer diferente.
A dor da humilhação, o sentimento horrível de ter sua intimidade violada, seu corpo tornado objeto e a impunidade não tornaram sua vida mais fácil. Ela denunciou, contou os eventos para a família que a apoiou imensamente, mas isso não impediu que uma profunda tristeza e pensamentos suicidas fossem parte de sua vida. O tempo tem sido um dos seus melhores amigos. O tempo e o trabalho. Somente o trabalho conseguiu fazer com que ela saísse “debaixo da coberta” como ela mesmo diz.
E assim, Nadja decidiu fazer sua parte para tentar evitar que outras pessoas passem pelo que ela passou. Sua ferramenta é o cinema, a imagem, a história bem contada que emociona e inspira, que instiga e incomoda, mais que é necessária. É com o cinema que Nadja busca desafiar os esteriótipos de gênero e a nossa cultura atual.
Apesar de ferida por homens, ela não carrega raiva ou desesperança. Nadja acredita no ser humano e em sua habilidade de ser melhor a cada dia.
