Midnight Rodeo are a six-piece band from Nottingham whose debut album Chaos Era arrived to enthusiastic praise from BBC Radio 6, DIY, KEXP, Shindig and CLASH. Blending West Coast neo-psychedelia with driving disco rhythms, they build a rich, groove-led sound around tight bass and drums, shimmering guitars, theremin-like synths and swelling organs, all carried by soft, hazy vocals. Krautrock and Latin-tinged beats collide with punchy psych-pop garage energy, resulting in songs that feel hypnotic, chaotic and irresistibly danceable.

J Mahon is the Berlin-based project of Australian songwriter Jarrod Michael Mahon. After years of self-releasing lo-fi home recordings, he stepped into the studio for Everything Has a Life (2023) with producer Syd Kemp, later signing to Unique Records for the chamber-pop follow-up Begin Again, Again, out June 27. His intimate, string-laced songs draw on Sparklehorse, Spiritualized and Daniel Johnston, while his live sets range from solo performances to a full seven-piece band, and have taken him to SXSW, The Great Escape and tours across Europe and Australia.

Australia’s Magic Machine land in Berlin with a high-voltage blend of psychedelic rock, garage grit, and fuzz-drenched blues — a sound that taps straight into the untamed essence of vintage psych. Hailing from Sydney/Dharawal, the group has rapidly grown into one of the country’s most thrilling live bands, touring alongside The Dandy Warhols, packing out their own East Coast headline shows, and performing with the likes of Frankie and The Witch Fingers and Death Valley Girls. Opening the night is Dusk Saffron, one of Berlin’s most promising new shoegaze outfits. Frankfurt’s NEWMEN return to Berlin with their hypnotic mix of floating synth-pop and grooving neo-kraut to celebrate their new album Terminal Beach — a shimmering retro-futurist journey inspired by J.G. Ballard. Blending lush synth textures, motorik rhythms, and reflective lyrics, Newmen bridge past and future, turning themes of dystopia, technology, and digital fatigue into an irresistibly danceable experience.

Sharing the stage, Cologne-based multi-instrumentalist Dissolvercgn (Roman Biewer) presents his second studio album Die völlige Abwesenheit von Punk. Drawing from krautrock, indie, dream pop and new wave, Biewer pairs hypnotic grooves with deadpan vocals and wry social commentary — questioning whether rebellion still burns beneath everyday routine or if we’ve learned to love the comfort of conformity.

Smote - Songs from the Free House (Rocket Recordings, 2025)

Smote returns with Songs from the Free House — a deep, earthbound meditation from Newcastle-based musician and landscape gardener Daniel Foggin. Rooted in repetition, ritual, and the physical act of working the land, the album fuses drone, folk, and heavy electronics into something raw, spiritual, and elemental.

Recorded with Sam Grant (Pigs x7) at Blank Studios, this fifth release for Rocket Recordings expands Smote’s sound without losing its primal focus. Joined by Sally Mason and Ian Lynch (Lankum), Foggin channels the soil, myth, and local lore — from monolithic riffs to the ancient legend of The Linton Wyrm.

Songs from the Free House is Smote’s most fully realized work to date — a transcendental meeting point between earth and ether, tradition and transcendence.
