(𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄)

Itinera Arte, plataforma independente de arte contemporânea no Rio de Janeiro, anuncia o 3º ciclo do seu Programa Internacional de Residência Artística, para artistas brasileiros e estrangeiros.

Intitulada “Campo Expandido”, a edição 2026.2 propõe uma investigação crítica sobre práticas na interseção de linguagens, meios e regimes de visibilidade.

A partir da noção de “campo expandido”, formulada por Rosalind Krauss, a residência convida artistas a tensionarem fronteiras entre pintura, escultura, fotografia, performance, vídeo, som e outras práticas híbridas. Ao mesmo tempo, propõe pensar o campo expandido para além da dimensão linguística, articulando-o a uma expansão geográfica e às relações entre arte, territorialidade, pertencimento e circulação.

Serão selecionados 10 artistas para 2 meses, de 5 de outubro a 30 de novembro de 2026, com exposição coletiva e open studio ao final.

Itinera Arte, an independent contemporary art platform in Rio de Janeiro, announces the 3rd cycle of its International Artist Residency Program, open to Brazilian and international artists.

Entitled “Expanded Field”, the 2026.2 edition proposes a critical investigation into practices at the intersection of languages, media, and regimes of visibility.

Drawing on Rosalind Krauss’s notion of the “expanded field”, the residency invites artists to challenge boundaries between painting, sculpture, photography, performance, video, sound, and other hybrid practices. At the same time, it proposes thinking of the expanded field beyond language, articulating it with a geographic expansion and with relations between art, territoriality, belonging, and circulation.

10 artists will be selected for 2 months, from October 5 to November 30, 2026, with a collective exhibition and open studio at the end.

Curatorial coordination: Thiago Fernandes and João Paulo Ovídio.

Luan Caja integrou nossa residência “Lugares que habito, lugares que me habitam”, desenvolvendo uma prática atravessada por pinturas ancestrais.

Artista amazonense radicado em Berlim, Luan experimenta materiais como giz, terra e café, construindo pinturas intuitivas e gestuais.

Em sua pesquisa, a palavra “carinho” aparece como eixo: uma reflexão sobre o espaço de altar presente nas casas, lugar de afeto, proteção e memória.

Para o artista, seus desenhos e pinturas assumem essa função, instaurando um território íntimo de cuidado, onde as imagens acompanham o tempo.

An artist from the Amazon now based in Berlin, Luan experiments with materials such as chalk, earth, and coffee, creating intuitive and gestural paintings.

In his research, the word “care” emerges as a central axis: a reflection on the altar-like space found in homes, a place of affection, protection, and memory.

For the artist, his drawings and paintings take on this role, establishing an intimate territory of care, where images accompany the passage of time.

Panos Balomenos integrou nossa residência “Lugares que habito, lugares que me habitam”, articulando uma pesquisa que atravessa arquitetura, colonialidade e disputas de memória inscritas no espaço urbano.

Em seus trabalhos, a cidade deixa de ser entendida como paisagem neutra e passa a ser percebida como território político, marcado por sucessivas camadas de dominação, apagamento e permanência cultural. Suas obras evocam os rastros deixados por projetos hegemônicos que reorganizam territórios, redefinem pertencimentos e silenciam outras formas de existência.

Panos aproxima diferentes geografias e experiências históricas para refletir sobre os impactos da ocupação cultural e sobre aquilo que resiste apesar das tentativas de apagamento. Ao caminhar por suas obras, o espectador é convidado a pensar o chão da cidade como arquivo vivo, carregado de tensões, memórias e vestígios coloniais que permanecem operando no presente.

In his work, the city is no longer understood as a neutral landscape, but as a political territory marked by successive layers of domination, erasure, and cultural permanence. His works evoke the traces left by hegemonic projects that reorganize territories, redefine belonging, and silence other ways of existing.

Panos brings together different geographies and historical experiences to reflect on the impacts of cultural occupation and on what resists despite attempts at erasure. Through his works, the viewer is invited to think of the city’s ground as a living archive, charged with tensions, memories, and colonial traces that continue to operate in the present.

Ana Júlia integrou nossa residência “Lugares que habito, lugares que me habitam”, desenvolvendo uma pesquisa que transita — de forma não linear — por diferentes aspectos da linguagem visual.

Em seu trabalho, abstração, figuração, paisagem e texto se cruzam em composições marcadas por cores pastéis, que se tornaram matéria recorrente em sua produção. Tendo vivido em diferentes contextos regionais, o lugar atravessa suas telas como registro afetivo de cada experiência.

Sua vinda inédita ao Rio de Janeiro gerou obras que elaboram seus atravessamentos com a cidade para além da imagem esteticamente agradável, muitas vezes vendida como “cidade maravilhosa”.

In her work, abstraction, figuration, landscape, and text intersect in compositions marked by pastel colors, which have become a recurring material in her practice. Having lived in different regional contexts, place runs through her paintings as an affective record of each experience.

Her first time in Rio de Janeiro gave rise to works that reflect on her encounters with the city beyond the aesthetically pleasing image so often sold as the “marvelous city.”

Clara LKM integrou nossa residência “Lugares que habito, lugares que me habitam”, construindo uma prática atravessada pelo vídeo, a projeção e a criação de experiências sensoriais de interação.

Para a exposição, Clara adaptou um projeto de projeção pensado para a rua vista da janela do seu ateliê na Itinera Arte, transformando-o em uma maquete do local.

Nela, vídeos realizados pela artista na floresta amazônica convidam o espectador a trazer a natureza para o cotidiano e a ampliar, com sensibilidade, a observação do entorno.

For the exhibition, Clara adapted a projection project originally conceived for the street seen from the window of her studio at Itinera Arte, transforming it into a model of the site.

Within it, videos made by the artist in the Amazon rainforest invite the viewer to bring nature into everyday life and to deepen, with sensitivity, their observation of the surrounding environment.

zarro integrou nossa residência “Lugares que habito, lugares que me habitam”, construindo uma pesquisa profundamente atravessada pela paisagem do Rio de Janeiro.

Entre a cidade e a natureza, seu trabalho observa os encontros entre linhas, cores, silhuetas e matérias, criando composições que nascem daquilo que a paisagem provoca e reverbera internamente.

A experiência do Rio aparece em sua prática não apenas como imagem, mas como sensação: uma presença feita de contrastes, deslocamentos, ritmos urbanos e forças naturais.

Em suas obras, zarro elabora um território visual onde o urbano e o natural se cruzam, dando forma a uma percepção sensível da cidade e de seus modos de habitar.

Dana integrou nossa residência “Lugares que habito, lugares que me habitam”, desenvolvendo uma prática atravessada pela relação entre emoção, memória e experiência pessoal.

Em seu trabalho, sentimentos e afetos se transformam em matéria visual, partindo de lugares íntimos, lembranças e inspirações que acompanham sua trajetória.

Seu retorno ao Rio de Janeiro trouxe consigo uma dimensão de nostalgia, que aparece em seus trabalhos como presença sensível, abrindo espaço para imagens marcadas por deslocamento e reencontro.

Entre memória, afeto e elaboração visual, sua pesquisa constrói um campo poético onde as experiências pessoais se traduzem em formas, cores e atmosferas.

Rafael Adorján integrou nossa residência “Lugares que habito, lugares que me habitam”, desenvolvendo uma prática construída a partir da relação entre imagem, território e experiência.

Em seu trabalho, a fotografia se torna um modo de permanência e investigação do espaço, acompanhando os vestígios, transformações e tensões que atravessam determinados contextos urbanos.

A partir de imersões e séries fotográficas realizadas no centro da cidade e em seus arredores, Rafael constrói percursos visuais que articulam memória, presença e mudança, observando como diferentes camadas históricas continuam atuando sobre o espaço contemporâneo.

Entre deslocamento, convivência e observação, sua pesquisa transforma o ambiente em campo vivo de relações, onde as imagens emergem como fragmentos de uma experiência contínua do lugar.

Saulo Martins integrou nossa residência “Lugares que habito, lugares que me habitam”, construindo uma prática atravessada pela experiência do corpo e pelos vestígios materiais que acompanham sua pesquisa.

Em seu trabalho, bulas, caixas de remédios, embalagens, tecidos, restos e remendos se tornam matéria sensível para investigar os modos como certas subjetividades são patologizadas pela modernidade.

Entre remédio e reparação, Saulo constrói imagens e objetos em camadas, como paisagens internas de uma experiência em constante elaboração.

Jesse Jewels integrou nossa residência “Lugares que habito, lugares que me habitam”, construindo uma prática nascida da fotografia, do documentário e de um olhar atento às comunidades, às culturas e às relações de poder.

Em seu trabalho, o ambiente se desloca da ideia de cenário e se firma como campo vivo de encontros, onde pessoas, territórios e experiências coexistem em diálogo contínuo. Durante a residência, Jesse buscou se conectar com o Rio de Janeiro, aproximando-se de suas realidades e compartilhando, na exposição, tanto seu olhar sobre a cidade quanto aspectos de sua própria cultura.��

In his work, the environment shifts away from the idea of a backdrop and becomes a living field of encounters, where people, territories, and experiences coexist in continuous dialogue. During the residency, Jesse sought to connect with Rio de Janeiro, engaging with its realities and sharing in the exhibition both his perspective on the city and aspects of his own culture.
