Graphic innovation is hitting a ceiling, but at Slash Studios, we’re still breaking through.
While developing , our anime cel-shaded fighter, we hit a wall: Unreal Engine, which is key to our visual success, didn't have a native way to dynamically adjust shadow hues.
Assuming one of our most important values (Quality is key), the team at Slash Studios, represented by Tarsis Oliveira, Fábio Cainã, and Lucas Fernandes pushed the boundaries. After deep R&D, they created a custom solution: an equation that calculates shadow hue based on the thermal potential of the material texture.
Now, every pixel is tracked in real-time, ensuring beautiful, consistent shadows that bring the art to life. Huge congrats to the team for this breakthrough!
