Longines Olympic Ref. 8614-1 – 1972 Vintage Monopush Chronograph
Highly collectible Longines Olympic Edition, released for the 1972 Munich Summer Games, when Longines served as official Olympic timekeeper. Featuring a tonneau-shaped stainless steel case, elegant silver sunburst dial, and a reliable manual-wind Longines movement, this reference captures the spirit of 1970s Swiss watchmaking.
This single-register chronograph was produced in anticipation of the 1972 Munich Olympic Games and was available in three dial colors.
This example features silver dial color and is powered by a mono-pusher chronograph movement for a single 30-minute register. The dial keeps its original tritium material and bright yellow chronograph hand. This is a very cool vintage Longines made even more interesting by the historical context around its creation.
