Hey there, EFOPLI community!

Last month, our team had the pleasure of participating in the II ENALET (Encontro Nacional de Alfabetização, Análise Linguística e Letramentos), which occurred from July 29th to the 31st.

The themes for our presentations were "Uma Jornada pela Educação Linguística: da formação docente às redes sociais" and "A extensão universitária como espaço de (de) formação docente: uma análise de relatos reflexivos dos extensionistas do EFOPLI".

We were thrilled to share a little bit of our work with researchers from other Brazilian universities!

🌐 I Luso-Brazilian Symposium on AI and English Language Education: From AI Literacy to Teacher Agency

How is Artificial Intelligence reshaping the way we teach and learn English? And how can teachers move from simply using AI tools to making informed, critical, and pedagogically grounded decisions about them?

This online symposium brings together researchers, teachers, and teacher educators from Brazil 🇧🇷 and Portugal 🇵🇹 to explore the theoretical, ethical, and pedagogical implications of AI for English-language education.

Moving beyond AI literacy as a purely technical competence, the event places teacher agency at the centre of the conversation, empowering educators to reflect critically on the role of AI in their professional practice.
