🌿 Nature Reimagined: CIAC 2025 Champion Muhammad Yusuf

Creativity and technical mastery took center stage at the 2025 CIPS International Aquascaping Contest (CIAC). Indonesian aquascaper Muhammad Yusuf claimed the championship with his work VEINS OF NATURE 2, inspired by the lush landscapes of the Petungkriyono tropical rainforest in Central Java.

Through carefully structured driftwood composition, layered aquatic plants, and a strong sense of depth, the layout recreates the quiet atmosphere of a rainforest ecosystem within an aquarium. Judges praised the work for its natural rhythm, visual tension, and refined balance between artistic expression and technical ex*****on — highlighting the level of craftsmanship now emerging within the global aquascaping community.

Heiko was a true adventurer and explorer all his life. His passion for aquaristics and his expeditions to all corners of the world are legendary. He leaves a big gap, because he showed us how beautiful and fragile our world of fish and the nature of the tropics is.

Let us celebrate him and be grateful for his countless pictures, articles and publications. They are for eternity.
