It took 7 long years to build the beautiful bridge connecting a district in Brunei that is literally disconnected from us for more than a 100 years.
We found small treasures like this paddle pop colored house in the middle of a place covered in greens. Allow these little things to change your perception and move your gaze where the cute things are. Lucky for all of us connecting is no longer a problem. We are just one click away from each other.
In spirit of building bridges through art, we love receiving structures or spaces like these so send them our way when you find one 💕

🌦🍒 Small Acts for Big Movements 🌦🍒

✨ In unlearning old ways, we take baby steps and start with the simplest way of understanding. Below are some resources of where you get further information on how to help:

✨ A number of non-Bruneian creatives who feel discriminated from opportunities are rooted from these microaggressions. .

✨ Faiq Airudin created a Twitter thread where shared experiences of those within the Bruneian community to get an understanding of what goes on in the country.

✨ Mariah Zahara shared her personal experience on Instagram about growing up as a foreigner in this country & Fatin Feisal also included a post discussing the ingrained racism in our current society.

✨ For more details on ways you can help minority groups, you can check (Instagram) - an organization run by youths focused on eradicating slavery by highlighting and providing assistance for migrant workers in the country.

✨ We can learn how to treat those within these communities better.

✨ If these micro aggressions can act as a means to degrade people from minority groups then engaging in small acts of empathy can uplift them and with sustained and collective efforts, lead to change.
