🎹 Emma Inara Hizam is one of the youngest, aspiring musicians Silhouette is happy to present to you as part of the collaboration with . From a debut show in 2019 to the Transcend show in late 2020, Emma Inara Hizam has returned this year to share with you an original composition (a trio) that will be performed by Qays, Zul and Sukry.

Having completed her music education at Jasmin Music School under the tutelage of Mr Iskandar (the Vice Principal of JMS), Emma was the runner-up in the 2018 Classical Piano Competition held in Singapore; featured in RTB's young creative programme (2018) and featured in Brunei Music Society's Brunei Young Musicians concert in 2019. She also participated and was acknowledged as one of the music composers for an American-Dutch animated film in 2022 for the film 'Jonas and the Sea'.

For the recital this weekend, Emma will make the audience listen to 'Nadine’ for the first time. It is a waltz played on piano and two violins. She will also be performing an instrumental by Rachmaninoff, and, playing and singing a song entitled 'Santai'.

🎻 Zulfadhli is a young and talented violinist and cellist who is carving his name in the Brunei music scene. He performs in various occasions - national events, weddings, corporate functions and TV programmes, and, has contributed to the success of Silhouette shows and events since 2019.

Zul was awarded with 5 gold and 1 silver in the 2018 KK Music Festival; performed for RMF's First Brunei Youth Music Orchestra in 2019; involved in the RTB production of 'Bedudun' in 2020; and represented Brunei in the 2021 South-East Asian Music Session (SEAMS). SEAMS was hosted by Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute.

For this collaborative project with Zul will be playing his violin for songs such as 'A Thousand Years' and 'Pretty Woman'.

🎸 Shahrom Pasang is one of the most well-known and highly respected celebrity guitarists of Brunei. Specialising in all kinds of guitar - oud, electric guitar, classical guitar etc - Shahrom has been known for his vast experience travelling and performing in many countries such as Singapore, Korea, Japan and Oman.

Shahrom also obtained a diploma in Music Conducting from the Defence Force School in Music (Melbourne, Australia). He currently works as one of the RTB orchestra musicians, often collaborating with international musicians from Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, to name a few.

For this recital with Shahrom is lending his expertise and playing guitar alongside the students of JMS for songs such as 'Libertango', 'Shallow', 'Stand By Me' and 'A Thousand Years'.

🎸 Wadee has been in the local entertainment industry for more than 15 years, starting out as a guitarist and performing for charity events around Brunei before picking up bass guitar as his main instrument. He participated in many music competitions in and outside Brunei and was also featured in a local radio station (Pelangi Fm) for an acoustic session.

Today Wadee plays with a local band - Roket Kertas - while leading Almas Volunteers Club, his own charity organisation that organises charity music shows such as the BruRock Music Festival at Jerudong Park, MKM Charity Live Concert, MKM Santai Night and Gen Y Music Charity Concert.

For this recital Wadee will accompany the students of on bass guitar.

🥁 You may have seen Luffy at weddings, corporate events and even on TV for he is one of the best drummers Brunei has.

Some of his biggest achievements include playing for Brunei-Singapore MOU TV programmes as well as in national events such as Ramah Mesra and His Majesty's birthday celebrations. His most memorable music journey was in 2011 when he had been commissioned to perform alongside international celebrities such as Marilyn Manson, Jojo and Bai Ling, and, appear in the music video by D' Hask entitled 'Tempatku' under the direction of Rock Jacobs.

For this recital, Luffy will accompany the students of on cajon for several numbers such as 'Castle On a Cloud', 'Stand By Me', A Thousand Years' and many more.

🎷 Ihsan Idris works in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces band, specialising in saxophone. He composes songs, belongs to a local ska reggae band namely One Bend, and has recorded a single instrumental entitled 'Alhambra' under Silhouette Records.

Ihsan and his ska reggae band enjoy participating in music competitions and events, in and outside Brunei. They were crowned the champions of the Battle of the Bands for two consecutive years (2018 - 2019) of which the songs had been rearranged by Ihsan himself.

For this recital with , Ihsan will be doing a duet with JMS student - a song entitled 'Shallow'. Ihsan will take the male lead solo but playing it on his saxophone.

🎹 Qays is a highly experienced pianist and keyboardist, and one of the most sought-after Bruneian composers. Having completed AMEB and LCM Grade 8 Piano at a young age, Qays has contributed a lot to the local music scene - performing in shows, arranging and leading a music team as well as directing music shows for national events.

Qays has also participated in many music competitions in and outside Brunei, and was commissioned to represent Brunei on various music festivals/events such as in Korea (2015, 2019) and Singapore (2020).

Today, Qays is also a dedicated music director who recently coordinated the music performance for Our Majesty the Sultan, during the 'Bersama Rakyat' (Brunei-Muara) event on 30th July.

For this recital with Qays will lead the music team and perform 'Libertango', 'Shallow' and 'Nadine' on piano.

Still We Rise: Driving with the Brakes on was supposed to be premiered on August of last year. This event was part of our annual charity programme and this time, the tickets being sold would be donated especially for the people in Gaza, Palestine. However, Covid 19 outbreak caused an immediate restriction for the secondth time.

Fret not, audience, this event is only being postponed to a later date. In the mean time, these photos were taken during our rehearsal prior to the month of August. As you can see, we were quite prepared and ready to ensure a wonderful performance especially for you.

Moved by the trying times of Covid-19, we wrapped that year (2020) with an event called Transcend on 19th December. We were glad to see feedbacks from the audience that were inspired, embraced and hopeful for the year to come (2021) after sitting this event.

Honorouble mention to one of our supporting musicians who helped made this event beautifully memorable; Allahyarham Gpan. Thank you for joining Transcend event. Albeit our short meeting that year, your presence is muchly remembered by us in Silhouette Entertainment. Al-Fatihah.
