Manama Theatre Club The Manama Theatre Club is a community of amateur drama enthusiasts hailing from different parts of the world who have a passion for the dramatic arts.

The Manama Theatre Club (MTC) is a community of amateur drama enthusiasts hailing from different parts of the world who have a passion for the dramatic arts and enjoy staging fun events throughout the year. We are based in the Drama Section of the British Club of Bahrain. We put on a variety of events from full length plays, pantomimes, revues and comedy-dramas, to informal social evenings of ski

ts, improv games, quiz nights and Murder Mysteries. We hold regular casual drama evenings and workshops, where anyone can just pop in for a drink, grab a script and join the cast on the informal stage or sit back and enjoy watching others attempt to act. For children, there are occasional Junior Theatre Workshops and the cahnce to audition for the Pantomime! MTC has a core creative Working Group to plan and organise new productions and events. We welcome all new drama enthusiasts with or without experience. There is lots to get involved with from acting, directing and producing to costume-sourcing, make up, sound, lights and set construction. Contact us now!

After a period of absence it’s hard to write this post. Today we lost one of the best . Tony didn’t stand on our stage but he was a massive supporter and member of our theatre club. There were many times behind the scenes that we struggled and Tony and his beautiful wife .entertainment stepped up and helped us out. Tony was a supporter of theatre. He left a show early once because he was so touched he cried. Tony was a very special man and we will miss him. It’s impossible to express this loss. Tony could have written a script. Very easily. He had a life full of stories. We will honour him. Bahrain has many lights this evening but this light is bright. We will miss you, Tony. Thank you for supporting theatre. Of all the lights in Bahrain skies tonight, yours will be the brightest. X

Our lovely MTC Family. We have had to make the incredibly difficult decision of cancelling the May performances of Dracula. We do hope this is a postponement and not a cancellation. We aim to move it to later in the year, after the summer holidays. We’re so sorry and we are so disappointed. We appreciate everyone’s efforts. In the meantime, if you are feeling creative please join the Sorrow Words initiative on Instagram. It would be lovely to see your faces and hear your voices, wherever you may be .
