From July 10, 2026, Gallery Largo will present the seventh edition of its traditional exhibition, "EXLIBRIS Reload" - a project that unveils previously unseen works from the extensive collection of the Jordan Petkov Art Foundation, organizer of the International ExLibris Competition Varna.

This year's exhibition brings together prints from every edition of the competition - from its inaugural event in 2014 through the 2025 edition. Visitors will have the opportunity to follow the artistic development of some of the most established names in contemporary exlibris art by comparing works created at different stages of their creative careers.

The seventh edition of "EXLIBRIS Reload" is dedicated to seven artists who, over the years, have become some of the most recognizable and beloved participants in the International ExLibris Competition Varna and in Largo Gallery's exhibition projects. These are Ausra Capskyte (Lithuania), Günter Hujber (Czech Republic), Krzysztof Marek Bąk (Poland), Maria Maddalena Tuccelli (Italy), Martin Baeyens (Belgium), Sergiy Hrapov (Ukraine), and Tomura Shigeki (Japan). Each of them has a distinctive artistic style and an impressive international career. Their work is characterized by exceptional craftsmanship, boundless imagination, and a constant pursuit of new artistic means of expression.

A special highlight of the exhibition are the works by Gunter Hujber, Krzysztof Marek Bak, and Martin Baeyens, who have contributed additional prints specifically for this exhibition - works that have never before been shown to the Bulgarian public. All three are among the leading contemporary representatives of the printmaking traditions in their respective countries and enjoy international recognition through numerous exhibitions and awards. Particularly noteworthy is the participation of the Polish artist Krzysztof Marek Bak, who will serve on the Honorary Jury of the International Exlibris Competition held as part of the 41st FISAE Congress in Varna this September.

The exhibition also pays tribute to the Lithuanian artist Ausra Capskyte, who passed away far too early but left behind an impressive body of work and a highly distinctive artistic signature. Maria Maddalena Tuccelli is well known to Varna audiences for her delicate, poetic prints devoted to universal human themes. Sergiy Hrapov impresses with his characteristic style, figurative compositions, and original interpretation of Cubist artistic techniques. Also featured is the Japanese master etcher Shigeki Tomura, one of the iconic figures of contemporary classical printmaking, whose delicate landscapes—created with extraordinary precision and refinement—evoke tranquility, harmony, and contemplation.

"7 EXLIBRIS Reload" continues the tradition of presenting the richness of the collection built through the International ExLibris Competition Varna, while introducing Bulgarian audiences to some of the most significant names in contemporary graphic art.

OPEN CALL FOR THE INTERNATIONAL EXLIBRIS COMPETITION OF THE 41 FISAE CONGRESS IS NOW CLOSED!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who submitted their artworks and became part of this inspiring international event! 🫶

The submission period has officially ended, and our team is now carefully processing all the packages we have received. We are delighted to share that the competition attracted more than 300 artists from over 35 countries, who submitted more than 780 original exlibris artworks.

This month, the Honourable International Jury of the 41 FISAE Competition will gather in Varna to review all submitted works, evaluate them and select the winning entries.

🚗 The traveling exhibition has reached its final stop!

On June 16, 2026, the traveling exhibition of the 6th International ExLibris Competition Varna will officially end its tour. The road was long, the stops – 11, and the meetings with the audience – priceless. On behalf of the team of the Jordan Petkov Art Foundation, organizer of the International ExLibris Competition Varna, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all institutions and partners who accepted the exhibition and made it accessible to their audience.

🏛️ Special thanks go to the "Yordan Yovkov" Memorial House - Dobrich, the National School of Fine Arts "Dobri Hristov" - Varna, the State Archives - Varna, the Municipal Art Gallery "Peter Persengiev" - Novi Pazar, the Shumen University "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski", the National School of Fine Arts "Prof. Vesselin Stoyanov" - Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo University "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", National School of Fine Arts "Acad. Dechko Uzunov" - Kazanlak, National Art School "Tsanko Lavrenov" - Plovdiv, National Art School "Dimitar Dobrovich" - Sliven and Art Gallery "Dechko Stoev" - Pomorie. By opening their doors to this project, they helped the exlibris meet new audiences and gave even more people the opportunity to get to know some of the best contemporary exlibris artists.

🤝The exhibition of the International ExLibris Competition Varna has been traveling since its inception in 2014. We are grateful that since its inception the competition has been implemented with the support of the Varna Municipality through the Culture Fund, and the traveling exhibitions in 2024 and 2026 are supported by the National Culture Fund. We also thank the partners from the Italian Exlibris Association and the project implemented with the support of the European Union - NextGenerationEU.

And last but not least, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all visitors, pupils, students, teachers, collectors and friends of graphic art who visited the exhibition and supported the development of exlibris in Bulgaria. 🫶

Expect more exciting exlibris events this fall during the 41 FISAE Congress on 1-6 September in the marine capital of Varna! 🤍

На 16 юни 2026 г. пътуващата изложба на 6-ти Международен Екслибрис Конкурс Варна официално ще завърши своето турне. Пътят беше дълъг, спирките – 11, а срещите с публиката – безценни. От името на екипа на Фондация за изкуство „Йордан Петков“, организатор на Международен Екслибрис Конкурс Варна, бихме искали да изкажем своята искрена благодарност към всички институции и партньори, които приеха изложбата и я направиха достъпна за своята публика.

Благодарни сме, че от самото му създаване конкурсът се реализира с подкрепата на Община Варна чрез Фонд „Култура“, а пътуващите изложби през 2024 и 2026 г. са подпомогнати от Национален фонд „Култура“. Благодарим също на партньорите от Италианската екслибрис асоциация и проекта, реализиран с подкрепата на Европейския съюз – NextGenerationEU.
И не на последно място отправяме най-сърдечни благодарности към всички посетители, ученици, студенти, преподаватели, колекционери и приятели на графичното изкуство, които посетиха изложбата и подкрепиха развитието на екслибриса в България. 🫶

🚗 The touring exhibition of the 6 International ExLibris Competition Varna is making its second to last stop. On May 14th the exhibition will be shown at gallery NOVA in the city of Sliven, Bulgaria. The competition will be presented to the students and teachers of the National Art High School "Dimitar Dobrovich".

✅ The realization of this visit is possible thanks to the financial support of the National Culture Fund under the program "Creation and/or Distribution - Small Projects 2025". @последователи
