This Burning Day is a five-piece modern metalcore/djent/alternative metal band from Sofia, Bulgaria, formed in 2011. Since its founding, This Burning Day has emerged as one of the pioneers of the metalcore music genre in Bulgaria, setting the foundation of the metalcore scene as a vital part of the Bulgarian underground music landscape, developing and popularizing the genre by playing at some of t
he biggest festivals in Bulgaria, such as Spirit Of Burgas, Hills Of Rock, We Are Going To Maglizh, September Sun, Moga Fest, PolineROOOCK, and Tattoo Fest Sofia. A memorable year in This Burning Day's history was 2017 when the band had the opportunity to open the show for the American metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada, who played in Bulgaria for the very first time. So far, This Burning Day has released 6 singles: 'Don't Back Down' (the track came out in 2012 with perhaps the first-ever lyric video in Bulgaria at the time), ‘A Former Life’ (2013), ‘If You Feel The Same’ (2015), 'Forgotten Traces’ (2016), 'Vent' (the track won the Bulgarian radio Z-Rock’s Rayners Top 30 Chart in 2020), and ‘Here And Now’ (2022); a 5-track debut EP called 'Elemental' (2016), and a 14-track debut LP titled 'Our Heart' (2023). In 2018, two songs from TBD's 'Elemental' EP - 'A Former Life' and 'If You Feel The Same' - were selected and included in the OST of Universal Studios (Don Michael Paul's) movie Deathrace 4: Beyond Anarchy. This Burning Day's members also took a small part in the movie itself by playing the steampunk metal band in the film and actually performing their own songs 'A Former Life' and 'If You Feel The Same', which ended up in the film's soundtrack. In 2024, This Burning Day was chosen to be the official support band for As I Lay Dying, having the honor of opening the show of the American metalcore legends in Sofia, Bulgaria.
