SHAPESHIFT 2026 asked: when machines shape our decisions, how do we keep the human voice at the core of the loop?

Care as a design discipline. Architecture grown from bacteria. Algorithms older than computers. The reminder that empathy is a quality of relationship, not language. And the provocation that growth happens in the friction: the messy, complicated, beautifully human kind.

And then hands got dirty. Bio-materials were layered. MVPs were shipped live. And 260 visitors built their own Algorithm Monster: a digital identity shaped by every choice they didn’t know they were making.

This is what three days inside looked like.

260. Точно толкова „алгоритмични чудовища“ оживяха в рамките на един уикенд. 👾

Централната част на изложбата THE HUMAN ALGORITHM: Collective Exhibition | Shapeshift Festival – инсталацията ALGORITHM MONSTER – се превърна в дигитално огледало. Посетителите заставаха пред нея, избираха и наблюдаваха как кодът превежда решенията ви в уникална дигитална идентичност.

Резултатът беше колективен портрет на нашите страхове, любопитство и присъствие. Някои „чудовища“ бяха по-нежни, други – хаотични, но всяко едно от тях беше доказателство, че в сърцето на всеки алгоритъм стои човешко същество.

260. That is exactly how many "Algorithm Monsters" were brought to life in a single weekend. 👾

The centrepiece of the THE HUMAN ALGORITHM: Collective Exhibition | Shapeshift Festival, the ALGORITHM MONSTER installation, became a digital mirror. Visitors stepped forward, made choices, and watched as the code translated their decisions into a unique digital identity.

The result was a collective portrait of our fears, our curiosity, and our presence. Some "monsters" were gentle, others chaotic, but every single one was proof that at the heart of every algorithm sits a human being.

Thank you to all 260 of you who participated, confronted, and played.

Четвъртото издание на SHAPESHIFT FESTIVAL 2026 | 24-26 APRIL | SOFIA приключи и сърцата ни са пълни. Тези три дни бяха живото доказателство, че колкото и да напредват технологиите, личните връзки, споделените идеи и смислените разговори остават незаменими. Фестивалът показа, че никой алгоритъм не може да замени вълнението от истинския човешки контакт и любознателния поглед по време на вдъхновяваща лекция.

The 4th edition of SHAPESHIFT FESTIVAL has come to a close, and our hearts are full. These three days were living proof that no matter how far technology advances, personal connections, shared ideas, and deep conversations remain irreplaceable. The festival showed that no algorithm could ever substitute the thrill of a real human connection and the spark in someone’s eyes during a breakthrough talk.

Финалният филм от програма ни представя концепцията за „акватектура“ — радикална визия за бъдещето, в която домовете ни не са вкопани в земята, а се носят по вълните.

В свят на покачващи се океани, тези филми изследват как архитектурата и технологиите се обединяват, за да превърнат водната повърхност в новото жизнено пространство на човечеството. Това вече не е научна фантастика, а възможен план за утрешния ден.
