Sam Druant is based between Antwerp and Gothenburg, her works across different media, spanning textile, aquarelle drawings, text, and oil paintings. She holds a BA and MA in Textile Design from LUCA School of Arts in Ghent (BE), and an MFA in Fine Arts from HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg (SE).
Sam Druant’s work is grounded in research and a methodology of gathering.
During this process, she engages with a constellation of sources in her surroundings, including images, texts, theories, and conversations, as she internalizes, interprets, and reshapes these materials within her practice.
Drawing on alternative feminine mythologies and feminist thought, Druant’s work explores desire, monstrous bodies, care for the (female) body, and the intricacies of human existence.
Through a playful and ironic visual language, she disrupts dominant Western viewpoints by introducing counter-narratives and social critique. Her practice frequently involves activating installations through gatherings, creating a common space to exchange experiences, foster
connections, and envision alternative futures.’

Sébastien Alouf Is a multimedia artist and visual craftsman. His practice is driven by a constant curiosity for materials, surfaces and reproduction techniques. Having explored collage, drawing, painting, printed imagery and video, he also turns to textiles as a new field of experimentation.

Sebastien Alouf uses tufting not to make rugs, but works that are closer to tapestry. He systematically chooses to show the reverse side of his pieces, tufting wool into jute fabric. This gives the work a rawer quality and brings its visual language closer to the sense of displacement that characterises his drawing and painting.

What particularly interests him in this technique is the constraint imposed by the material itself. Less malleable, wool forces him to make more radical choices, which he can then carry back into his painting practice. For Sebastien Alouf, each technique becomes a way of learning from the others: the constraints, gestures and possibilities inherent to each medium feed into his practice as a whole. In his work, one technique always teaches something to the others.

Lisette de Greeuw (b. 1990) is a Dutch artist who lives and works in Belgium. She graduated from LUCA School of Arts in Ghent with degrees in Fine Arts (2012) and Textile (2014), and completed the postgraduate programme at HISK (Higher Institute for Fine Arts) in Ghent (2018–2019).
De Greeuw was a resident at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam (2021–2023) and has completed residencies at Cité internationale des Arts in Paris (2024) and Kouraku Kiln in Arita, Japan (2026), among others. She has received grants from the Mondriaan Fund, including the Artist Basis grant (2025–2029), as well as multiple grants from Flanders State of the Arts.
Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions at institutions and galleries including FRAC Grand Large in Dunkerque, M HKA in Antwerp, S.M.A.K. in Ghent, Josilda da Conceição Gallery and galerie dudokdegroot.

In her work, Emma Van Roey explores the vulnerability of human existence, the transience of materials, and our relationship with time.
Material and action form the starting point of her practice. Van Roey works with materials such as sand, wire, wood, and textiles. These materials embody a physical vulnerability.
Sand cannot be grasped, wire is thin and fragile, wood offers support while at the same time being subject to time. By bringing these materials together, she attempts to envelop and hold
something that, in essence, cannot be held.

Han Decorte (b. 1986) is a curator and scenographer, working at the intersection of contemporary art, design and heritage. In her exhibitions, she brings together content, space and experience. She recently organized *Echoes of a Lost Garden*, an exhibition of contemporary art at Villa Les Zéphyrs in Westende.
Also *History of the Future*, an exhibition inspired by the heritage collection of St John’s Hospital in Damme, and *Women of Paper* at the Bruges Heritage Library,
Alongside her curatorial practice, Han Decorte is team coordinator of Graphic Arts at LUCA School of Arts Ghent. She teaches textile design there and also lectures in product design at LUCA Campus Genk. In her teaching, she encourages students to think abstractly and conceptually, to critically examine their work and to consciously explore their position within society.

Sophie De Somere graduated with a Master’s degree in Art History and subsequently spent more than ten years as part of the core team of the internationally renowned theatre company ‘Ontroerend Goed’. She also served as program director for the young artists’ program at Theater Aan Zee for seven editions.
Today, she is the driving force behind her own company, ONBETAALBAAR, creating bespoke circular interiors.
Alongside her design practice, Sophie has a particular passion for art. She previously curated VONK and RUIS in Ghent. She is currently assisting Han Decorte with the curation of a group exhibition on textile art ‘Talking Threads’ for TALE ART GALLERY;
Throughout her career, Sophie has combined art, design and craftsmanship with a distinct focus on circularity and the value of materials

In Amandine David’s practice, located between traditional crafts and digital manufacturing, artefacts appear as material traces of a surrounding process of learning, sharing and collaborating. By working with craftspeople, programmers and architects, and by foregrounding what is usually considered as context, such as technical know-how, disciplinary traditions and social cultures, Amandine opens up possibilities for multidisciplinary dialogues. Because of its collaborative origins and open-ended nature, Amandine’s work is always self-consciously connected to the social structures of sharing that surround every design practice.

Weaving is at the heart of Amandine’s practice, serving as a tool for critical reflection on technology, a medium for archiving craft knowledge, and a space for dialogue. She understands weaving as a ‘transparent’ technology whose structure reveals the gestures, time and materials involved in its making. By combining weaving and programming, Amandine blurs the boundaries between craft and digital techniques, highlighting their similarities and shared history.

This exhibition draws on the gallery’s textile heritage. In the former sewing factory, textiles once again take centre stage, this time as an artistic medium. The exhibition showcases a wide variety of techniques, in which traditional craftsmanship is combined with contemporary experimentation. Talking Threads brings together a number of contemporary artists and designers who use textiles as a medium of communication within their contemporary artistic context.
