Those with their gaze on the horizon during last year’s festival might have already caught a glimpse of what is to come during Horst 2027. Across the Senne, a new pavilion quietly took shape. A first seed planted on the other side.

Meet Succession. A pavilion brought to life by German artist collective YRD.Works, together with the many hands and minds of our Horst Atelier participants. A collective effort that marks the beginning of a much slower transformation.

Its open framework of reusable steel and reclaimed wood will gradually surrender to climbing plants and local vegetation. Year after year, nature will take over, turning architecture into a living ecosystem. A place where humans are merely passing guests.

Succession marks a first step towards transforming the other side into a new green lung, connecting the grounds across the river to Asiat Park. The pavilion was created in collaboration with BiLT, a project by TheWorkshop.
