🌊 Laucean - L’OcĂ©an | Belgian Metal Shoegaze Band
A song about the ocean, its beauty and the life we share it with.

L’OcĂ©an is the opening track of our debut album, setting the tone for Laucean’s musical universe from the very first notes.

Through poetic French lyrics and atmospheric guitars, we sing about the beauty of the oceans and the importance of respecting the animals that inhabit them. These themes have been at the heart of Laucean since the beginning.

We choose to sing entirely in French, embracing the depth and poetry of our language.

We can’t wait to bring these songs to the stage.
If you’re a venue, festival organiser or promoter interested in booking a Belgian metal band with French vocals, we’d love to hear from you!
We hope you enjoy it. đŸ–€

Somewhere beyond the noise, there must be a place where we can finally breathe. 🌊
« L’Oiseau Libre » is about a bird searching for a home far from pollution, violence, hunting and the hands that try to catch it.

But maybe it’s also about us.
About trying to find our place in a world that never stops moving.
A world of crowded cities, endless screens and a future that seems to move faster than we can follow.

Sometimes, all we want is an open sky, the sound of the ocean and the freedom to simply exist.
A little piece of « L’Oiseau Libre », played under the sun. đŸ•Šïž

If you could escape anywhere in the world, where would you go?

🌊 L’OISEAU LIBRE - THE SHOEGAZE SIDE OF OUR MUSIC đŸ–€

Just Laurent, founder of Laucean and composer of our album and EP, playing a clean guitar riff by the ocean. 🇧đŸ‡Ș

This Reel captures only the clean, shoegaze side of L’Oiseau Libre. No distortion, no heavy riffs. Just the melody, the dreamy atmosphere and the softer textures hidden within the full composition.

But there’s another side to our music.

Across the full album and EP, these delicate, floating melodies meet the intensity and heaviness of metal. It’s this contrast between softness and power, light and darkness, that shapes the sound of Laucean.

If you’re into Alcest, MĂžl, Deafheaven and the worlds of shoegaze, blackgaze and atmospheric metal, we hope you’ll enjoy discovering this quieter side of our music. đŸ–€

Released on October 10, 2024, L’Oiseau Libre turns two today. Two years on, we’re still happy to share the melodies behind the heaviness.

🎧 Listen to L’Oiseau Libre on your favourite streaming platforms, and support the band by picking up the album on vinyl or CD.

🌊 Do you love hearing the clean melodies behind heavy music?

đŸ€˜ BACKSTAGE — What you don’t see on stage

A concert isn’t just about stepping on stage, plugging in the amps and playing. 😅
Behind every show, there are hours of preparation, planning, wiring, testing
and sometimes quite a lot of DIY work!

For the past month, Laurent and Maxime have been working on our new rack, which will be joining us for our upcoming shows and tours.🔧🎾

Laurent took care of building and installing the main components, while Maxime is now working on the finishing touches: wiring, integrating the final elements, installing the splitter, and everything needed to make the whole setup clean, reliable and efficient on stage.

Because when you’re an independent band, a lot of this technical work falls directly on you. You have to think about the gear, logistics, wiring, preparation
all the things nobody ever sees once the lights go down and the show begins.

And that’s exactly what we want to show you more of: the behind-the-scenes work, the making-of, the hours of preparation that happen before we can finally step on stage.

We’re doing our best, with the resources and experience we have, and above all, with a lot of passion. đŸ€˜

đŸŽ€ And now, it’s time to get ready for the next shows!

We’re still looking for concert dates for the rest of 2026, throughout 2027, as well as summer festivals.

Promoters, venues, associations, bands: if you’re looking for a metal band for a show, or if you’d like to put together a co-bill with other metal bands, don’t hesitate to get in touch!

đŸ“© Send us a DM.

See you soon on stage
and until then, we’ll be taking you behind the scenes with us. đŸ”„

On September 15th, 2024, “Adieu” was released. đŸ–€

Today, Laucean is happy to share a new lyric reel for one of the most-streamed songs.

Two years later, these words still carry the same weight, the same emotions and hopefully the same meaning for you.

Thank you to everyone who has listened, streamed, shared and supported this song over the past two years.
It means more than you know.

I truly hope you’ll enjoy this song just as much when we bring it to the stage and play it live with the full band. đŸ€˜

We are working on “Adieu” together at The Black Lab, with new gear and backing tracks without our bassist.
Raw, unfiltered excerpt as we prepare for Laucean’s next concert in November. đŸ€˜

2 years of “Adieu” 🎉
Time flies
It’s already been two years since “Adieu” was first released as a single in 2024.
For the album, the song was recorded, mixed and mastered all over again, giving it a louder, more powerful sound thanks to the amazing work of đŸ€˜

And there’s another little piece of the story that means a lot to me:
took elements from the original Adieu artwork and reimagined them into the cover of the first album.
A beautiful way to connect the song to the album and make its imagery live on in a different form. 🎹

“Adieu” has become one of the most appreciated songs in terms of streaming and, above all, in the feedback I receive from you. ❀
So, two years later, I just want to say:
Thank you.

Thank you for listening, for streaming, for sharing, for your messages and for keeping this song alive.
I’m incredibly grateful that Adieu found its way into so many of your hearts.

Happy 2nd anniversary, Adieu. đŸ„°â€šAnd thank you all for being part of the journey.
