The Spot

'The Spot' is een dans community die een creatieve, respectvolle, waarderende omgeving creëert om zich als danser en persoon ten volle te kunnen ontwikkelen.

ONTSTAAN

'The Spot' werd opgericht in 2012 door Lowie Deseyne, Samuel Chan en Bruno De Rouck nadat Lowie en Samuel twee jaar voordien hun eigen danslessen organiseerden in Gent onder de naam 'Undiscovered Colors'. De jarenlange vriendschap en collegialiteit van het drietal en hun ervaring in de danswereld als danser, choreograaf en lesgever, lag aan de basis van deze samenwerking. Sinds maart 202

4 zijn hun wegen echter gescheiden en bouwen Lowie en Bruno verder aan het uitbouwen van deze community. MISSIE

‘Move Together, Create Yourself’ beschrijft de missie van ‘The Spot’ in één zin. Een danser of een artiest in het algemeen kan zich pas ten volle ontplooien wanneer die zich goed voelt in zijn creatieve omgeving. Wanneer die omgeving gedeeld wordt met anderen zijn waarden als wederzijds respect, waardering en erkenning voor diversiteit cruciaal om zich als individu te ontdekken en volledig te kunnen ontwikkelen. ‘Move Together’ staat niet alleen voor het fysiek bewegen of dansen maar ook voor het mentaal bewegen. Dit door onze ideologie, kennis en ervaring, waarden en normen met elkaar te delen en ook op die manier elkaar te inspireren. ‘Create Yourself’ staat dan weer voor de ruimte en vrijheid die je krijgt als individu binnen ‘The Spot’ en waarin je gestimuleerd wordt. Want welke informatie je ook opneemt, hoe veel je ook beïnvloed en geïnspireerd wordt door anderen, je blijft als individu nog altijd de eindontwerper van je eigen creatie. VISIE

Doorheen de jaren wil ‘The Spot’ uitgroeien tot een volwaardige gemeenschap binnen de danswereld waar iedereen zijn passie naar hartelust kan uitvoeren. Een gemeenschap gedragen door eenheid in de missie waar dansers over heel België worden opgeleid in diverse stijlen, geïnspireerd worden door elkaar en zich ten volle kunnen ontwikkelen als artiest en dusdanig als individu. Op die manier kan men evolueren tot de danser en persoon die men wil zijn.

The dance season is coming to an end and summer is just around the corner! Starting in June, we switch to our SUMMER CLASSES, taking place every TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY evening from 19:00u to 22:00u. In addition to our regular teachers, we’ll welcome a GUEST TEACHER every Wednesday for an INTENSIVE 2-HOUR WORKSHOP! 💪💯

You can register until the day before each class, but there’s a LIMITED NUMBER OF SPOTS (full = full)! 
If you already registered for next season, you get ❗25% MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNT ON ALL SUMMER CLASSES❗

You can also use your 10-CLASS CARD or pay on the spot for a SINGLE CLASS (if spots are still available). In that case, pre-registration isn’t possible, but you can check the number of available spots through our registration page.

 Neal Piron is a Belgian dancer based in London, where he has performed for major artists such as Kylie Minogue, Anne-Marie and Rita Ora, on world-famous stages including Wembley Stadium, The O2 Arena and the OVO Arena. You can even spot him in blockbuster movies like Aladdin, Wicked and Better Man.
