We’ll have the honor to open the festival with Elias Jahshan, to talk about his latest book This Q***r Arab Family.

Elias Jahshan (he/him) is a Lebanese-Palestinian journalist and writer, and the editor of groundbreaking anthologies THIS ARAB IS Q***R (2022) and THIS Q***R ARAB FAMILY (2025), both published by Saqi Books. This Arab Is Q***r was a 2023 Lambda Literary Awards finalist in the USA and shortlisted for the 2023 Bread & Roses Award in the UK, and has been translated into Italian and soon in French.
His short memoir ‘Coming Out Palestinian’ was anthologised in Arab, Australian, Other (ed. Randa Abdel-Fattah & Sara Saleh; Picador, 2019), while ‘Bittersweet Memories of a Palestinian Knight’ was anthologised in Ask the Night for a Dream (ed. Susan Muaddi Darraj; Palestine Writes Press, 2024). More recently, he was featured in the brand new anthology Homosexual Intifada (ed. Hannah Moushabek & George Abraham; Interlink Books, 2026) with his chapter ‘Palestinian Dreaming’. Elias is also a former editor-in-chief of Star Observer, Australia’s longest-running LGBTQ+ media outlet, and has been published in The Guardian, The New Arab, Gay Times, Attitude, Raseef22, Shado Mag, My Kali, and more.
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Elias now lives in London, UK

Duha is a Brussels based researcher, scuba diver, mermaid, a community space holder and an artist whose life moves across many practices. She is finishing a PhD on migration, care, and childhood, and she also writes, dances, dives and creates Ebru art which she has practiced for years. Working on and with water lets her think, slow down, and connect to the stories she carries. Her academic and artistic work often speak to each other, making room for complexity, emotion, and imagination. She shares her Ebru pieces here as part of the many worlds she belongs to.

Léa Brami est un architecte, artiste et auteur basé à Bruxelles. Sa pratique est engagée et pluridisciplinaire, et s’articule autour des questions liées à la mémoire, à l’amnésie, et à l’identité. Utilisant à la fois l’installation, l’écriture, la sérigraphie, la céramique et le textile, son travail explore ainsi les notions de fiction réparatrice et d’uchronie. Pour ce marché, iel proposera des bougies, des cadres en céramique et des patchs sérigraphiés.

Léa Brami is an architect, artist, and writer based in Brussels. Their practice is committed and multidisciplinary, focusing on issues related to memory, amnesia, and identity. Using installation, writing, screenprinting, ceramics, and textiles, their work explores concepts of reparative fiction and uchronia. For this market, they will propose candles, ceramic frames and screen-printed patches

MŪK is a Brussels-based brand specializing in handmade, one-of-a-kind crochet pieces. Starting with hats and balaclavas, the line has expanded to include headpieces and accessories. MŪK’s collections range from varied winter designs to a stylized summer line. The brand embraces an eclectic approach, with some pieces designed as statement creations meant to be worn on as expressive, wearable art.
The project is actively working on completely switching to reusing leftover wool, giving new life to materials that would otherwise remain unused.
