Dance, theatre, performances & conversations at Kaaistudios, De Kriekelaar and on various stages in and around Brussels while our main building on Square Sainctelette is under construction 🏗️ Founded in 1977 as a pioneer of innovative performing arts, this house has grown into a platform for both work by artists of the Flemish Wave and new generations of performing artists. From Brussels to intern

ational, from small to large venues, and just as well in the squares and the streets, where urban and global themes are tangible. Over the coming years the team from Kaaitheater will, under the motto "𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝘽𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙮?", make room for a broad spectrum of stories, perspectives, artists and audiences, so we can learn to better reflect the city's many voices. This is why we are handing over some of our own resources to organisations and groups that are still not visible enough on the Brussels stages, with the invitation to make their own artistic programmes and thus make their voices louder. Furthermore, we are charting new paths around debate, education and participation, opening the way to co-ownership by artists, Brussels residents and many audiences. Between 2022 and 2026, Kaaitheater’s building on the Sainctelettesquare will be under renovation. In the meantime, we will continue to perform in Kaaistudio's, and we will be on the move through the city and present a multifaceted programme with many theatres and partners. Whilst on tour in and around Brussels, the activities of Kaaitheater continue to move with the times, stimulate social and artistic debates and embrace the diverse performing arts of today.

𝗡𝗟 | Quinceañeras vertrekt vanuit het iconische Latijns-Amerikaanse ritueel van de vijftiende verjaardag – de symbolische overgang van meisje naar vrouw. In hun viering, geworteld in koloniale invloeden en zelf heruitgevonden betekenissen, onderzoeken de artiesten hoe tradities zowel beperkend als bevrijdend kunnen zijn.

𝗙𝗥 | Quinceañeras s’inspire du rituel latino-américain emblématique du quinzième anniversaire, qui marque le passage symbolique de l’enfance à l’âge adulte. À travers cette célébration, ancrée dans les influences coloniales et les significations réinventées, les artistes explorent comment les traditions peuvent être à la fois contraignantes et libératrices.

𝗘𝗡 | Quinceañeras departs from the iconic Latin American ritual of the fifteenth birthday—the symbolic transition from girl to woman. In this celebration, rooted in colonial influences and reinvented meanings, the artists explore how traditions can be both restrictive and liberating.

Just a few days until Tashattot’s 𝙎𝙒𝘼𝙉𝘼 𝙇𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 & 𝘼𝙧𝙩 𝙁𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡 📚 a book fair, focusing on publications from the South West Asia and North Africa, region with an accompanying programme of talks, workshops and performances.

All ticket profits will go to Tanseqeye Shaabeye collective – التنسيقية الشعبية. They support Lebanon Emergency Relief, which uses the funds to provide food for those affected, purchase tents and mattresses, supply hygiene products and baby food, and fund basic infrastructure and more.
