« through the looking class » is a project by Marc Buchy. A speakeasy cinema, a temporary space where images, words and gazes circulates through a speculative rewriting of film history.
Between archive and sharing, Marc Buchy posits that by changing the images that constitute us, we can change the world. By offering alternative narratives and ways of viewing them together, he seeks to foster a community of observation, a looking class that disrupts hierarchies and is defined by its focus on what has been rendered invisible.
For the time of existence of this speakeasy cinema, Marc Buchy ’s banner made for MOREpublishers’ campagne series will take another role, another usage, a last public function before being transformed into a multiple.
From July 1st to 7th, the doors open at 6 pm. Screenings of short and feature films take place daily at 8 pm, selected by guest programmers: Alicia Melzacka, Timour Sanli, India Sidgwick, Panos Tripolitsiotis, HaYoung, Antoinette Jattiot, Soto Labor & Nadjim Bigou Fathi, and Deniz Erdem.
Food will be available on site every evening.
