🎭🏆 SHAPE PLAYERS CELEBRATES AN OUTSTANDING WEEKEND AT THE 2026 ONE ACT PLAY FESTIVAL & YOUTHFEST! 🇧🇪🇩🇪
This past weekend, our SHAPE Performing Arts School students and adult SHAPE Players traveled to Wiesbaden, Germany, to participate in the 2026 IMCOM-Europe One Act Play Festival & YouthFEST, joining military community theatre programs from across Europe for a wonderful celebration of theatre, creativity, and community!
We proudly represented SHAPE with two productions at the Amelia Earhart Playhouse:

We are also especially proud of Colette Baker and SHAPE Players alumna June Mulholland, now representing Liberty Theatre (formerly Amelia Earhart Theatre), who were both selected among just 11 finalists in a monologue competition featuring youth and adult performers!

❤️ MORE THAN A FESTIVAL — A FAMILY REUNION
As Dane Winters reminded us during the festival, our theatre programs serve as bulwarks against divisiveness.
Our staff and volunteers become families.
Our theatres are safe spaces.
They are havens where differences can be set aside, where friendships are formed, and where people from different backgrounds discover what they share.
That spirit was evident throughout the weekend.
While awards were presented and performances evaluated, this festival was never simply about competition. It was, in many ways, a family reunion, bringing together theatre communities from military garrisons across Europe.
We celebrated one another’s work, renewed friendships, made new connections, and reminded ourselves that our individual programs are part of something much larger.
Our theatres help build stronger, more connected, and more resilient military communities. They provide opportunities for people of all ages to find their voices, discover their talents, and develop a sense of belonging.
That is the real achievement worth celebrating.
To our performers, directors, volunteers, families, fellow theatre programs, festival organizers, and everyone who helped make this weekend possible: thank you!
We return to SHAPE proud of our accomplishments, inspired by our fellow artists, and grateful to be part of this extraordinary European military theatre family.
