Nรฉ ร  la gare de Bruxelles-Chapelle en 2000 et depuis 2018 ร  Molenbeek. Une structure pluridisciplinaire composรฉe dโ€™un CENTRE dโ€™ARTS et de projets dโ€™insertion socioprofessionnelle qui sont traduit par le BAR RECYCLART (un bar/restaurant 100%vegan) et de RECYCLART FABRIK (ateliers bois/mรฉtal/infra). Geboren en opgegroeid in station Brussel-Kapellekerk in 2000 en sinds 2018 in Molenbeek gevestigd. Een multidisciplinaire structuur, bestaande uit het KUNSTENCENTRUM en projecten binnen de sociale economie, vertaald in onze BAR RECYCLART (bar/restaurant) en RECYCLART FABRIK (infra-, hout- en metaalatelier). Born and raised in the Brussels-Chapelle railway station in 2000 and located in Molenbeek since 2018. A multidisciplinary structure, consisting of the ARTS CENTRE and social economy projects, translated into our BAR RECYCLART (100%vegan bar/restaurant) and RECYCLART FABRIK (infrastructure, wood and metal workshop).

Over the past month, Isidora Draskovic & Valentina Donato, Fogo and The Wheelies have been based at Recyclart, developing their research on accessibility and the city through a crip perspective :

The evening will start with an ๐ˆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Œ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐‰๐š๐ฆ with Fogo and the dance collective La Houle. A space to connect through movement, listen to one another, and experiment together. An invitation to push through the cracks, just like the wisteria growing through our walls.

Weโ€™ll continue with a ๐™๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐š๐๐ข๐ง๐  & ๐“๐š๐ฅ๐ค with the residents, reflecting on their processes, the afterlife of their projects, and the questions that remain.

Also on the program : a ๐‚๐ซ๐ข๐ฉ ๐‹๐ข๐›๐ซ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ and reading corner, shared Crip Anger, an exhibition by Dominique Istaz.

Grunge Gone Broadway juxtaposes a raw approach to sound with codified Broadway aesthetics to question mechanisms of visibility and the quest for celebrity.

By reactivating figures of obsolescence and integrating an absurd visual memory, the project offers an evolving hybrid live form where codes are displaced and reinterpreted through contrast.

We kickstart our fall season of STADPLURAAL with ๐‘ช๐’“๐’Š๐’‘๐’‘๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ช๐’Š๐’•๐’š : a research residency exploring the challenges, joys and oddities of everyday urban experiences beyond ableist norms.

Over the coming weeks, Fogo, The Wheelies Project, and Isidora Draskovic & Valentina Donato will carry out their research in exchange with one another, building a vocabulary that better captures the nuances of accessibility in our city.

The Wheelies Project is a Brussels-based collective dedicated to improving accessibility structurally and promoting inclusion in Belgium.

Their residency builds on their commitment to collective action and allyship, this time channeling a fundamental force that can be necessary to affect change: rage.

Drawing from disability justice and feminist traditions, they explore accessible forms of protest and how anger around disability injustice can become collective and contagious.

Fogo is a holistic herbalist artivist exploring our bodily relationship to the environment, urban ecology, and what it means to move through the margins as a q***r, disabled, neurodivergent person of color.

During their residency, they continue to explore crip theories through embodied practices of care, movement and knowledge, while paying attention to the more-than-human and the plant world.

Isidora Draskovic & Valentina Donatp, graduates of the MSc Urban Studies at VUB-ULB, explore the everyday ways in which we navigate our technologically mediated cities.

Their research asks what happens when the infrastructures we rely on to move around, access services and participate in urban life fail us, exclude us, or perpetuate the barriers we are working to overcome.
