Certainly, one of the most important historical moments in Sint-Niklaas and in Belgium was 80 years ago when the city was liberated after the Second World War.

Today, "Flowers from Belgium" commemorates this event with a flower carpet measuring 5m x 6m, suspended vertically 8m above the Grote Markt. It is an ephemeral carpet at a height worthy of the significance of this historic event.
