With great pleasure, we present the Ithaka programme! Everyone is welcome to come and discover a wide range of activities and performances.

In the mood for atmospheric live music, getting creative at our Arts & Crafts, or rather cuddling animals at our petting zoo? Come by and experience it yourself from March 3 to 8!

Open from Tuesday 2 pm until Friday 10 pm, and during the weekend from Saturday 10 am until Sunday 5 pm, with guides available every hour! Lipsiuscollege

Announcing our first artists! ⭐️

Lenie creates sculptures that are almost human /animal, but not quite, making for an interesting image.

Artist duo Loïc and William have created an immersive experience that is meant to make you feel like an actual animal looking for food.

🦋 Zijn we mens, of zijn we dier? Ontdek de grenzen tijdens de 34ste editie van het kunstenfestival Ithaka.

In het unieke decor van het Justus Lipsiuscollege bieden we dit jaar een podium aan 9 jonge kunstenaars. Het thema? Human & Animal. Een onderzoek naar het spanningsveld tussen beschaving en instinct, tussen ons en 'de ander'.

Ithaka is meer dan kijken alleen. Het is beleven. 🌟 We nodigen je uit om deel te nemen aan interactieve installaties, creatieve workshops en om de sfeer op te snuiven in onze festivalbar.

🦋 Are we human, or are we animal? Discover the boundaries during the 34th edition of Arts Festival Ithaka.

In the unique setting of the Justus Lipsiuscollege, we are giving a stage to 9 young artists this year. The theme? Human & Animal. An exploration of the tension between civilization and instinct, between us and 'the other'.

Ithaka is more than just looking. It is about experiencing. 🌟 We invite you to engage with interactive installations, join creative workshops, and soak up the atmosphere at our festival bar.

MEET OUR PERFORMERS!

Lauryn De Ruyck is a versatile performance artist, choreographer, and visual artist. In her practice, she explores the dynamic interaction between movement and visual art. Her performances often emerge from the search for a new dance language, discovering innovative movements inspired by her own visual work.

Linora Dinga, a performing artist from Portugal, based in Belgium since 2019. Of Russian, Congolese and Georgian heritages, her multicultural upbringing contributed to the way she sees the world, and has influenced her artistic expression. She has collaborated as a performer and co-creator in different projects, and since last year, she has been developing her first solo creation.

MEET NATHALIE AND FIONA

Nathalie is one of our photographers who will bring a series called “escape room”. Why? Come and explore at Ithaka, it’s a story that will leave you amazed by Nathalie’s strength.

Fiona will bring a work called “social field”. It’s a series of drawings where colours vibrate to speak of distance, proximity, relationship to space and to others. Their geometric language is based on two measured representations: the human visual field, and our social zones.
