Always fun to try something new and try to get better with my use of colors. The Maekerscafe 'pen(seel) & papier' is a warm, inviting atmosphere for like-minded creatives. It's my bimonthly push to get creative!

At the Vismarkt entrance of one of the most beautiful streets in leuven.
This is on a bigger piece of watercolor paper than I would usually work on. Definitely a challenge to get my lines as loose as they are when I work small(er). It's also hot press paper so the colors act differently on the page.
Started at and finished at my desk.

About last night: Pen(seel) & Papier maekerscafe in ! Challenged myself to use thick, sharp lines and larger/looser chunks of color as opposed to my usual quest for detail/sketchy lines.
Extra points if you know where this is (hint: in Belgium)

👀👀 SECRET REVEAL 👀👀
If you saw my story a few weeks back then you know I was working on **something** but almost no one knew what....well here ya go!
I was working on a commission from .sara: a wedding present for .
This was a challenging painting of a new type of building for me (not my typical gothic building) but it was the chapel where Flo got married so this is the result!
Happy to see it proudly displayed in 's apartment! 🏳️‍🌈

Had a fun evening at during the Pen(seel) & papier night. (With , , and more!)
3 pieces, all different, fun little explorations. Goal of the night: don't be a perfectionist.

This year I've renewed the designs of my postcards and printed a whole new batch! Perfect for those of you that haven't forgotten about the pen & paper ways of telling someone you love them and perfect for those of you that have, but are excited to start!
To keep the holiday spirit extra alive, I'm going to donate 15% of the proceeds to TEJO. For those who don't know what TEJO is or does, they're an organisation in Belgium that offers easy-to-access, immediate, anonymous, and free therapeutic help for youth between the ages of 10-20. TEJO plays an important role in reducing the long waiting lists for psychological help, empowering youth and giving them the support they need to grow. (See bio for link and more information)

- 1 postcard: 4€
- 3 postcards (1x each design): 10€
- 6 postcards (2x each of the three designs): 18€
Each pack comes with recycled envelopes.

Voting is important 😉

With the permission of the couple I did the commission for/current owners of this painting, I've entered my painting of the old town hall in Leuven into a competition!

30 works will be displayed as part of a national exhibition spread across museums in Belgium. 15 are chosen by a jury, 15 by public votes.

If you have a minute, it would be great if you all could vote and help get my work on display in a museum! 😃 😮

Outside the comfort zone: drawing on location. Now I'm a real ! Last sketch was me trying something new. First I did the color then I did the lines...then I had to catch my train!
