Hi improv lovers,

Since we had to cancel the festival, some people have already responded that they would like to help with the financial losses. We think that's super sweet! And also a great help.

Every little bit helps!
We will put your donations into good use to help flatten out some financial losses:
the admin costs, the catering, the design of the poster, transportation of the international teachers, ...

Dear Improv fan,

We have a painful message: we have decided to cancel Improovelicious 2020 because of the Corona virus outbreak in Europe. Strictly speaking, today, Belgian authorities are not forcing us to do so. But this is an international festival, with performers and participants from 3 continents, and we cannot predict what the situation will be like in 2 weeks. So we feel that by cancelling now we avoid an even greater disruption or last minute confusion.

Our festival depends on volunteers who have been working on this tirelessly for over a year, so this is a painful decision, with practical and financial consequences. The team will do its utmost to handle this cancellation as well as we can.

If you were registered for a workshop or had purchased tickets, you will be contacted by email regarding reimbursement. If in a couple of days you have not received such email, please get in touch via http://www.improovelicious.be/contact/

We do hope to see all of you again at some other occasion, in better circumstances.

Meet Roemer Lievaart! Roemer will be performing with Rocky Amaretto on Thursday, and you will also find him on stage in our ensemble shows. We are proud to introduce Rama Nicholas, all the way from Australia. Rama will be performing in our mixed cast, and will also perform as a duo with Nele Kießling as "Friends with Benefits" on Friday night. For those who are wondering: yes, festival packs are still available. But since registration for individual workshop is open now (and some are already close to selling out) you probably want to hurry to get your festival pack, otherwise your favorite workshops may no longer be available!

We are proud to announce Katy Schutte as Artistic Director for Improovelicious2020, along with Hila Di Castro. Katy is co-artistic director of The Maydays and one of Project2. She also plays in Whose Mind Is It Anyway, Any Movie as a Rom Com, Knightmare Live and she guest in bunch of other great shows.

In her own words: “I love improvisation because it’s an art form where we can all be equal; a place of agreement where all ideas are good ideas and we have one another’s backs. I enjoy short and long form, narrative and montage, various formats and genres and musical styles. Every year I get more excited about another corner of improv. If we can put this level of mindfulness and care into our lives, we will be happier people and live in a better world."

We have 2 fabulous Artistic Directors lined up for this year's edition. They will direct the mixed cast and present a fabulous show every evening. Let's introduce our first Artistic Director: Hila Di Castro. Hila is the co-artistic director of Momentum, based in Israel. She plays in several other groups and she is the co-founder of “20,000 words” – improv workshops and shows that advocate gender equality.

In her own words: "In acting school whenever someone said: let improvise! I used to run and find a place to hide, improvisation terrified me. After acting school I had an opportunity to do improv again and I fell in love. Today, for me, Improvisation is freedom, It is total flight. When I improvise, I am truly myself, with no ego and zero judgement.

I love all kinds of improv :shortform, longform, Narrative, freeform and all that is between and beyond. my main love and passion is to bring the world of theatre into improv and to make the audience feel a variety of feelings . In my eyes, as improvisers, we have a great gift – we create worlds – and as such we have the opportunity to inspire and make people think."
