Onze ladder staat opgesteld in Maison Florida, Vissersstraat 3, 3500 Hasselt.

'Step by step', our new project where we place a ladder in between two companies of Quartier Canal, bringing them together through a healthy meal.

Yesterday Dries Vanderheyden from Muziekodroom and Ward Dumon from Servilux were spending their lunch break together, talking about the unspoken.

Door de Swert prepared a delicious three course vegan meal for Dries and Ward. By climbing their way up to the dessert, they literally got closer to each other, step by step.

Yesterday Maison Florida released a new concept called 'Dozijn' in which they question traditional household objects while connecting with the people of Quartier Canal. Studio Oebjet Troevee designed a bench as a central element for this concept. This construction was made possible by all the leftover materials we received from our neighbors HOEK 8 skatepark, Isolatec bvba, ZZED Lift Solutions and CIAP Kunstverein. The first edition took place at Bouts Mazout. Find out more about the project and the next editions in the article below!

Lost, found & repurposed

In today’s economy, most objects are made with a presupposed purpose. Once it loses this purpose it often gets labeled as waste. Studio Oebjet Troevee wants to change the perspective towards these forgotten objects. As a modern homo habilis of the 21st century we can again force ourselves to dive into the possibilities of these objects and give them a new purpose.

When re-using objects, our focus lies on creating projects that help improve the social and urban environment. These objects were initially forgotten by the city and its inhabitants, which is why we search for ways to re-implement them in the city, but through a different form and function, and place them again at the service of its inhabitants.

Besides the artistic research we also give workshops to students, children and everyone who is interested. Here we teach how to re-make objects using different kinds of techniques. We always start from a concept which is first sketched on paper and later executed with the materials necessary. Through these exercises we want to stimulate this way of looking at forgotten objects as a resource with immense potential rather than seeing it as waste.
