A little moment from the middle of Unfolding. Still one of my favourites to play. Not because it is flashy or difficult. But because it feels so natural under the fingers. There is space to breathe, to let the phrases flow, and simply enjoy the sound of the harp. Sometimes that is exactly what I want from a piece. No pressure. Just playing and enjoying where the music takes you. Unfolding is playable on both lever and pedal harp.

How do you know this song? It always surprises me how one simple melody can carry so many different memories. Maybe you sang All Through the Night at school, at camp, in church… or perhaps someone used to sing it to you. For me, that is what makes these old melodies so beautiful on the harp. You’re not just playing notes. You’re bringing back a little piece of a memory. I’d love to know yours. Where do you remember All Through the Night from? And if you’d like to play my harp arrangement yourself, comment NIGHT and I’ll send you the link to the sheet music page

Indigo is one of those pieces I love to simply let breathe. A little space between the notes. A melody that can unfold naturally. No need to rush or make it perfect. Just you, your harp, and the music. Indigo is available for both lever harp and pedal harp. Comment INDIGO and I’ll send you the link to the page where you can purchase it

The Ash Grove seems to bring back a different memory for everyone. School. Church. Girl Scouts. Campfires. And apparently… quite a few different lyrics. That’s exactly what I love about these old melodies. You don’t just hear them. Sometimes they take you back somewhere. I’m arranging more of these nostalgic songs for harp — simple, flowing arrangements that let the melody speak. Do you remember singing The Ash Grove? Tell me where you first heard it. And if you’d like to play these old melodies on your own harp, comment NIGHT or GIFTS or CELTIC, and see where the link I’ll send you takes you.

This morning, I’m playing The Grenadier and the Lady. I love how this old folk melody seems to tell its story all by itself. Simple, flowing, and so natural on the harp. It’s one of the arrangements in my 10 Celtic Folk Songs for Harp collection — a book full of melodies that feel familiar, musical, and simply lovely to play. If you’d like to play these songs on your own harp, comment CELTIC and I’ll send you the link.

I was playing Down by the Sally Gardens… and apparently I wasn’t playing alone. Listen closely. The blackbird in the background decided to join in. I love little moments like this. A simple old melody, the sound of the harp, and a bird answering from somewhere outside. Sally Gardens is one of the arrangements in my 10 Celtic Folk Songs for lever harp. If you’d like to play these beautiful old melodies yourself, comment CELTIC and I’ll send you the link to the sheet music page.
