We want to thank everyone who made possible our wonderful launch event last evening at .

🔸It was great to listen to the meaningful presentation by .laporte and their vision to work from an elitist institution of the past towards a museum that builds community and represents "what is living in our community now".

🔹We reflected about inclusion in the creative industry in Belgium with the talk show between
and moderated by .

🔸We loved to hear the stories and anecdotes behind the designs co-created by the participants of the first edition of workshops in Antwerp and Ghent.

🔹And, to put the icing on the cake, the 'Forget me not' blankets are now part of the collection from the .
As Fabio would say: "A landmark is planted towards more inclusive institutions!"

We can't wait to see what is coming in our next future and we hope that we can go on sharing it you with you all! ☺️

Connected.Dots Gent will have info sessions on the 2nd and 3rd November! Come join us ♡

Officially the Gent Design Track will start at 16th November!

Over the next 12 weeks, we will take our collective on a new and interactive journey in exploring their personal ambitions, capabilities & qualities towards the creative world / industry.

Last but not least, through co-creation the collective works on a product with a powerful story.

Hi lovely creatives!

You are cordially invited to our launching event at the 22nd October in Design Museum.

A bit about the Connedted Dots Project:
- we bring creative people from different cultures together,
- give them materials and a place to create together,
- and raise network opportunities for the participants in Belgium (with art-schools, art-organisations, Belgian freelancers...)

Participants are usually from very different areas and countries: product designers, photographers, textile designers, illustrators... 😊
The workshops are every week on tuesday, in English and for free.

Forget Me Not Blanket are still in the Vitrine! Come and check them out ♡

The blankets are being show case in the vitrine alongside the information of the designers which had been collectively working together in the design track Gent since spring last year!

The blanket is a unique collection blanket with a powerful story which are also being sold in the ♡

Do you want to know a bit more about the process behind the BEE-COME beewax wraps? This is your post!

🔸🔹🔸

🔹We started working in a collective creative process trying to express in a visual way our experience as newcomers: each of us drew their own paths and flowers.

🔸We decided to create an eco-friendly product to put those designs on and, since food plays a big role in everyone´s life and living in Belgium means adding a sandwich to your daily routine, we thought that a beewax wrap would make it.

🔹We assembled our paths and flowers into 4 different designs and we thought in a name: BEE-COME*.

🔸Our brainstorming kept going and we decided to add some extras to make it even more unique: a postcard with a recipe* and a postcard with the instructions*.

🔹We finally packed it all together. It was ready to be shared with the world!

Hi Creative souls!

We want to share our process behind the Forget Me Not Blanket from Gent Track Design.

We started the designing process through a skill building workshops which was held in and lead by Laura Karoen, Textile Artist from Belgium. We learned about textile, stencils and designs patterns.

At the first workshop we made a dream tree which consisted our dream for the project. Here are few things we wrote:
1. Everyone's involvement and voice
2. Search connection in our ideas
3. Learn about the Maker Space in Gent
4. Learn about the culture and what people like to buy
5. Making things with our hands
6. Create an amazing co creation experience
7. Exchange ideas with other participants
8. Learn to digitize your artwork especially using the tools from FTI Lab
9. Archiving and capturing the process with pictures

What a Dream Tree! And you know what? Our dreams come true! The most amazing one was from our coordinator, Nathan, his dream was creating a happy learning process! ♡♡

Hi Creative souls! It's Friday Appreciation Day♡

We would like to thank our Gent Track Coordinator, Nathan! The project would've not been a success if not for all of his hard work bringing all of the designers together in Connected.dots.♡

Since August 2018, Nathan has been working at iDROPS, where he finds his passion in working with participatory methods in an innovative environment, working through co-creation in the field of diversity and inclusion. Now Nathan is team coordinator of the Diversity in Inclusion team .

Hello,

I am Nathan, a double blood from Curaçao and Belgium. What I like to do? Sparking and illuminating people's dreams and using my magical brainstorming powers to develop projects with a creative twist.

I love to be surrounded by nature and explore the unknown! That is where my quote and spirit comes from: "L'inconnu, C'est mon Dieu".

Yes! With a big smile I can say that, besides being happy, I am very proud of the Connected.Dots collective.

Coming from an artistic and creative family it was soon clear to me: ideas and creations, that's what makes me warm and keeps me going.

After my social work studies it has always been a dream of mine to use artistic methods and creativity as a basis for working with groups of people.

And then Connected.Dots was born!

For me, Connected.Dots is like "1+1=3".

- It is both an engine in which our creative souls find a place to home in on their artistic strengths, build a network and a portfolio.

- It is the bridge between our creative millennials and the creative industry.

- It enriches both people and society.

With Connected.Dots we go for a participative and co-creational story in which we use design as an empowering tool and thus support our creative souls on their creative path in Belgium.
