Daytona 24h – Race Recap 🐍

We started strong with a solid opening stint from Bart, running up front until heavy rain hit suddenly during Matthijs’ stint. With only a 5% rain forecast, we weren’t prepared — and dropped from P3 to P14.

Things got worse with a crash in Turn 1, but Nick stepped in and absolutely carried the team through the rain. From P25 we clawed our way back up, turning chaos into opportunity and finding our pace again.

Through the night, Bart and Nick delivered ultra-consistent stints despite technical gremlins: wiper issues, a 97% throttle, and ABS/TC doing their own thing.

At sunrise, Vik and Matthijs pushed us back into the top 5. Bart took the final stint with 3 hours to go, chasing P4 and P3 — until an LMP2 tagged us in Turn 1, forcing another 10-minute repair stop.

P5 held to the finish.

Not the race we planned — but a massive comeback, huge teamwork, and pure grit.

We’re dumb enough to do this again.
MAMBA SimSports takes on 24 hours of Daytona with sleep deprivation, questionable strategy calls, and pure stubbornness. We definetly didn't know about the current car metas either.

Drivers:

Expect long stints, pit lane suffering, long repairs, night-shift madness, and vibes held together by red bull and spite.
This is endurance racing: mistakes will happen, excuses will be made.

P8 in the 2022 24H Daytona.

We want to thank Sim Stickers driver Bryan Loynes for teaming up with us. Overall the weekend was a rollercoaster of emotions and actions.

From being 1,5 lap down, we fought back and came back in P2 with only 8 seconds deficit of the leaders. Then unlucky contact with a GT3 losing his car and a LMP2 not slowing down, costs us 6min repair, putting us back in P10.

The team kept fighting and with a hilarious last hour where we had to fight for P7 we lost out with only 0.6 seconds.

P8 for our first special event is not bad, and we certainly had the pace to win this event. Already looking forward to Bathurst.

Although the dissapointment slowly is taking over, as we should be battling for a win right now, we keep on pushing untill the end.

We are in P9 now, although we don't have direct opponents atm, alot can still happen.

Ouch ouch ouch!

After the triple stint of Bryan, we were in P2 with only 8sec deficit. But in Matthijs his last stint, a GT3 car lost it and tapped us at the back, and then an LMP2 drove into the side giving us a 6min repair.

We are down 4km/h on topspeed, but we keep fighting and try to achieve the best we can.

After the triple stints of Nick and Bart, we were able to unlap ourselves and found ourselves back within 1min of the race leaders in 4th place.

Bryan just started his triple stint. Keep pushing.

We are making moves to the front!

Nick Schurmans is taking over from Matthijs Groen for his first stints. We are currently driving in P5 with still our sights on the top-3.

Bart Daelman is preparing to do 4 stints in a row after Nick's double or potential triple stint.

P5 with 15 hours and 40 minutes remaining...

First challenge of the year. 24 hours of Daytona.

MAMBA is working together with Sim Stickers to reach the top spots.

Our driver line-up is Bryan Loynes, Nick Schurmans, Matthijs Groen and Bart Daelman

After 90min of racing we are driving in 10th place. Bryan Loynes is in the car right now.
