Photography Workshop / Saturday 17 May from 10am to 2pm and from 4pm to 8pm

Given as a result of his exhibition at NooN Consulting ART « PORTRAIT OF A LADY »

Theoretical and practical workshop that proposes a series of ideas aimed at solving some of the problems in our photographic practice when we face the portrait and the countless options it offers.

From 10h to 14h: In the theory we will approach some aspects of historical character -and painting will be a great reference- that will allow us to go into the long tradition of the portrait, undoubtedly, one of the most loved genres in photography, both the option of the face and the body.

From 16h to 20h: We will move on to the practice of the posed photographic portrait and we will see the possibilities that light gives us, we will focus on the process of directing the person portrayed step by step and in a space in which we must place him/her. A portrait is finally a mise-en-scène in which we must control different elements that lead us to obtain satisfactory images.

About the artist:
Eduardo Momeñe is a photographer and author of articles and essays on photographic aesthetics.
Teaching photography has been an important part of his professional career.

He has given numerous courses, workshops and seminars.

He has produce projects such as the television series ‘La puerta abierta’ and the magazine ‘Fotografías’, both are considered reference and iconic works.

His first solo exhibition was held at the Nikon Gallery in Barcelona in 1974.

Since then, his photographs have formed part of public and private collections and he has held exhibitions in different countries.

Latest exhibitions have taken place at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid (‘Portraits and other Fictions’ / 2023-2024),
Luis Burgos Gallery (PhotoEspaña 2024)

Mexican artist Ernesto Marenco?

(b. 1960 Mexico City) Son of exiled Nicaraguan poet and politician, Marenco was surrounded from childhood by artists, painters, writers and poets, that had been exiled to Mexico from the Spanish Civil War, and countries in Central and South America. Marenco is an artist, or visual poet, who has more than 35 years translating the language of poetry to everyday objects. His objects express a particular and committed manner and a great sense of humor. The artist has exhibited his work in international galleries and museums and produced more than 20 covers for books in Latin America, mainly poetry books, placing him as one of the leading representatives of contemporary Mexican art objects. Marenco currently lives and works in Houston, Texas.

TESTEMONY or the Irreverence of the Undecible’, Installation composed of 60 pieces of porcelain objects (in collaboration with the American artist Amanda Fulk.)

“His object-based work continues to mature to a higher level of simplicity and sophistication.”

To look at TESTEMONY is to accept truth in its simplest yet complicated form.
The real truth of the object that Ernesto Marenco has been consistenly investigating with his work has led to an interesting paradigm shift, the objectification of the male testicle. In this case, his very own.

Marenco looks back to history and looks ahead to the future while placing himself as the key master of both doors. It is exactly this type of questioning and mind shifting
