Art for Everyone

Art for Everyone Art for Everyone is the EXPAT ART CLUB in Brussels. Here you can follow classes, visit exhibitions, join guided tours or go on cultural day trips.

Everyone who speaks English is welcome, no matter what kind of background, race or ethical belief you have but of course "Art for Everyone" does not actually imply EVERYone as that is simply impossible (no sorry, I do not cater to 3 year old, Chinese-speaking girls ;-p). It merely means that you do not need to have any prior knowledge about art to be able to attend and enjoy my classes and activit

ies. Obviously, as this is an English-speaking organisation, I tend to attract a lot of members from the expat community here in Brussels. But as long as you are able to understand English at an upper-intermediate level you should have no problems following and participating in any of the activities. ;-)

Obviously for the time being there are no planned events. I am hoping to start again after the Easter break. COURSES / TOURS OFFERED, PRICES

This term (classes are on Tuesdays):

Drawing Class (5 classes, 2 hours per week)

5 classes = 200€ (early bird price until the end of August, then 220€)

Guided Tours

We visit various museums, exhibitions and galleries and our guide helps us to understand the purpose and underlying idea of the artist and / or concept. Sometimes, when the weather allows it we will also do walking tours where we learn about a city, street art or other interesting topics. Anyone can join us but the group limit is set at 10 people. Price guided tour: (depends on the length and institution)

Art Visits

These are activities without guided tours. As there is a lot going on in and around Brussels we will sometimes meet up simply to enjoy a certain exhibition or show together. But of course they also regularly organize wonderful exhibitions in the not so close vicinity. And because it is always more fun to go on a little day trip like this together (plus we can share the costs for gas and parking if we are travelling by car) I will occasionally post different exhibitions here that I personally want to see and perhaps you are interested in joining. Intensive weekend classes, day trips and art visits are organized at irregular intervals but usually at least once a month.

About last night: Thank you for this wonderful vernissage of the exhibition "Revisited 4" with 12 multidisciplinary artists who have all been part of "Kunst in het Dorp" in the past. A big thanks also to 't Voldel for your support and the Beat Gallery in Halle for letting us use their premises.

The flower carpet in Brussels wilted a long time ago but this event is still coming up.

The biggest wish for my extended Paris stay this summer was to discover the city's smaller, lesser known museums. One of my favourite finds was the Musée Bourdelle, which is situated in the former house and studio of the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle, who lived from 1861 until 1929 and created large, impressive, figurative works. One of his most famous pieces is the archer, which you've most probably already seen in one of the many museums that own a copy. They also have a nice garden and cafe where you can relax after your visit. And the entrance is free!!

One of the reasons why I wanted to spend some time in Paris this summer was certainly the Alexander Calder exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton. They showed his works in chronological order so you were able to discover how his art evolved from the very beginning when the objects he made were absolutely not considered art. The show is over so please enjoy some of my photos if you didn’t make it there.

Rest in peace, Yayoi Kusama!! I especially enjoy your mirror rooms.

Her colourful creations drew large crowds and fetched some of the highest ever prices for a female artist.
