At its Annual General Meeting during , UNIC members elected a new Board of Directors and a new President Jaime Tarrazón (Federación de Cines de España, FECE) to support the association's work over the next two years.

Celebrating European Cinemas at CineEurope 2026 🎥

At the opening of CineEurope 2026, UNIC President Phil Clapp and CEO Laura Houlgatte Abbott welcomed delegates from across the industry and highlighted the continued strength of European cinemas.

Their message was clear: a healthy, competitive and diverse marketplace remains essential to the long-term success of cinema. A strong year-round film slate, meaningful theatrical exclusivity, sustained marketing support and continued investment in the cinema experience are key to ensuring a vibrant future.

🌟 Celebrating rising stars of European cinema exhibition!

As part of the fifth edition of Giants of Exhibition: Europe, published by UNIC and Boxoffice PRO, The Arc Cinema (Ireland, UK) is the recipient of the Breakthrough Giant Award!

This award recognises the circuits that have broken into the Top 50 ranking of the biggest European circuits by screen count for the very first time. Following years of strong organic growth, The Arc Cinema successfully cruised into the 45th position in Europe, with 87 screens and 15 cinemas across Ireland and the UK.

This achievement highlights the continued dynamism and ambition of cinema operators across Europe, with The Arc Cinema standing out as one of the sector’s most exciting rising stars.
