HORIZONS DOMESTIQUES
Exhibition : 11.09 - 17.10.2026
Mon- Friday 2-6 pm

‘Opposites attract’ as the saying goes. The animal sculptures of Nicolas Jullien and the abstract lyricism of Steve Dehoux’s paintings lie at opposite ends of the emotional spectrum. A humorous wooden dog stands alongside a romantic abstract landscape. This is the original gamble of this exhibition, which breaks with habits and highlights the contrast. Well, I’m exaggerating. I also see a complementary difference in their work. Steve Dehoux’s evocative paintings invite an emotional escape, while the presence of a wooden dog by Nicolas Jullien brings you back to a comforting reality. From this perspective, it is rather like visiting a zen exhibition where a gluttonous Fido takes the place of the laughing Buddha, and a painting of infinity replaces the meditating Buddha.
