Zoart, created in 2009, produces and promotes art projects mainly focusing on world music and hybrid-jazz. The association gives prominence to artists coming from the euro-mediterranean area who often experience difficulties to make themselves known, perform and/or meet professionals of the sector. Zoart encourages as well the convergence of diverse audiences.
In 2015, Zoart opens a suitable venue in which artists are hosted and have the opportunity to enhance their artistic program, develop local roots and acquire greater visibility. Today, Zoart is a unique cultural space where Brussels residents have the opportunity to meet « differently » beyond their cultural background
Our goals :
- Implementing the creation of a professioinal frame for artists
- Developing expertise in mobility and supporting artists' status
- Creating an environment-stimulating dialogue between artists coming from difference cultural traditions with a view to organise events, conferences and debates
- Stimulating awareness of present societal issues such as cultural diversity, gender, youth
- Taking part in the new utopias leading to a different «leaving together»
ZOART is a member of the Chamber of Concertation of Music of the FWB, Superior Council of Culture of the FWB, of the federation Belgian World Music Network, Scivias, Réseau des Arts à Bruxelles / Brussel Kunstenoverleg and QuArts Cultures.
