[Zoom-in] ✨Have you ever heard the Greek word panegyri?
It comes from an ancient Greek etymology, originally meant the gathering of all the people - just like a festival. The European Festivals Association (EFA) is part of EUFEAST - Festive trails for a sustainable tomorrow, a project that draws inspiration from “Panegyri” and focuses on local festivals as drivers of sustainable tourism and cultural heritage.

Inspired by this tradition and as part of this project, we have gathered some festivals around Europe that capture a similar energy, bringing a touch of panegyri to you.

Environmental sustainability has become a key priority in festival organisation today, from choosing greener practices and materials to rethinking how events can operate in more environmentally responsible ways.🌱

With this in mind, we want to once again spotlight our Go Green initiative and highlight the work of F/262 – Festival Internacional de Fotografia, an EFFE Label, contemporary photography festival that developed a Sustainability Handbook for photography festivals - a practical and open framework tailored specifically to the sector.

This handbook is designed as a transferable tool to help festivals build more sustainable, responsible, and transparent practices across governance, operations, and audience engagement.

It’s freely available for any festival looking to learn, adapt, and grow. Find it here: https://www.festivalfinder.eu/news/go-green-shaping-sustainability-through-photography

And explore more festivals focusing on environmental sustainability on our FestivalFinder.eu page: https://www.festivalfinder.eu//find-festival-organisations?query=&country=&daterange=&topics%5B%5D=environmental-sustainability

Help this festival move along rivers🛶
Fluctuations launched a crowdfunding campaign to buy a boat.

Why? The team behind believes in the urgent need to create spaces that bring people together, to use culture as a social force, and to reclaim celebration as a political tool in its noblest sense. Creating new narratives shaped by joy and meaning. Like rivers flowing through our territories, carrying new ideas, solidarity, and openness.
