🇧🇪 From 10–27 September, Gent Festival van Vlaanderen returns and asks us to "Please Disturb"!

Across three weeks, it will bring classical music into different spaces and formats across the city, with concerts, encounters and performances featuring both emerging talents and world-renowned artists.

For their upcoming edition, the festival invites audiences to rethink how we listen, come together and experience classical music, loosening the boundaries between concentration and distraction, tradition and new habits, the familiar and the unexpected.

Please Disturb does not promise comfort or consensus. A festival cannot tell you how to listen. It can only create conditions to experience music as something that happens between people.✨

🇵🇱 FEST FORUM Poland - building the festival community together!

After two editions in 2025, FEST FORUM is now taking the next step with the establishment of the FEST FORUM Association, becoming a year-round platform for cooperation and exchange.

It has become a space for festival organisers, producers, creators, researchers and others in the sector to come together, exchange experiences, share good practices and discuss the future of festivals.

The event will be an opportunity to meet people from across the festival sector, build new connections and explore ideas around cooperation, innovation and more sustainable festivals.

In partnership with EFA, an session will take place, alongside other networking events.

🚨 EFFEA Call #5 is now open.
Funding is available for festivals to support emerging artists across borders through residencies taking place in 2027.

Each proposal brings together:
🎭 1 emerging artist or group
🏛️ 1 leading festival
🏛️ at least 2 partner festivals
🌍 from at least 3 eligible countries

50 residencies will be supported through two categories:
🔹 EFFEA Discovery — 40 x €8,000
🔹 EFFEA Springboard — 10 x €15,000

🇵🇱 From 3–13 September, Wratislavia Cantans returns to Wrocław and Lower Silesia with its 61st edition, The Shadow Line, inspired by Joseph Conrad.

The theme looks at moments of transition: when something ends, something else begins, and questions of maturity and responsibility come into focus.

Across ten days, our EFA Member brings these ideas into music through Paul McCreesh revisiting A Venetian Coronation 1595, Samson et Dalila conducted by Thomas Guggeis, Dido and Aeneas with Accademia Bizantina, Giovanni Antonini and Il Giardino Armonico, contemporary music with Ensemble MusikFabrik, and a closing performance of Mahler’s Sixth Symphony by Staatskapelle Dresden and Daniele Gatti.

Join us for a conversation with Polish theatre director and multimedia artist Łukasz Twarkowski, whose work pushes theatre into the territories of visual art, film and digital technology.

Known for immersive, large-scale productions including ROHTKO, Respublika, The Employees and QUANTA, Twarkowski creates worlds where reality and illusion constantly shift and where the relationship between the artist, the audience and the society around them is not straightforward.

Neyko Genchev is Deputy Mayor of Община Велико Търново - Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo and also a singer, composer, publisher, translator and university lecturer. For him, cultural policy and artistic creation naturally inform one another.

🇧🇬 For 30 years, Сцена на кръстопът/ Crossroads Stage Autumn Theatre Festival from our EFA Member Драматичен театър-Пловдив has brought artists, stories and audiences together in Plovdiv, . From 10 to 21 September, the festival marks its anniversary with theatre spreading across the city.

This year’s programme moves from Mike Bartlett’s 'Albion' and Jean Anouilh’s 'Eurydice' to Brecht’s 'The Caucasian Chalk Circle' from the National Theatre in Budapest.

There is also Bergman’s 'Persona', while the Ancient Theatre hosts 'Cabaret' bringing the glamour and unease of 1930s Berlin to one of Plovdiv’s most striking stages.
