The co-artistic directors are performing an evening length piece and the arts center Dec 13 and I really want the audience filled with friends. Tickets are already live and we hope to sell it out with friendly faces. It would mean so much if you would come. They would feel the love and affirmation for the work they have put into their passion. We are telling everyone way ahead in the hopes of avoiding conflicts. 💕

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS‼️

Who: Open to screendance makers worldwide. Dance filmmakers are encouraged to collaborate with artists working in different disciplines to develop their films.

What: Films with a focus on movement. Interdisciplinary works are especially encouraged.

When/Where: Submissions are due by Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. The in-person festival will take place at WEi Studio in Brussels, Belgium on Friday, November 13, 2026 @ 8PM and there will be a virtual festival announcing the winners on Saturday, December 12, 2026.

Awards & Prizes✨

* “Best of the Fest”—$250 cash prize, screened at the festival, featured in Pinky Thinker Press magazine

We invite choreographers and dance companies to apply for Intercultural Dance Day 2026, part of mignolo ARTWEEK. This year, we are expanding the vision of Intercultural Dance Day to highlight diverse dance genres while exploring an essential question:

Where does your movement come from?

We are seeking 2 more artists/companies to add to our lineup of hip top, tap, and classical Indian dance who can represent distinct dance styles or genres to:

• Present one individual dance work (pre-existing or premiere, 8–10 minutes) that reflects their genre and acknowledges its cultural origins, influences, or history.
• Contribute one representative from their group to participate in a newly created collaborative work (10–15 minutes) directed by Mignolo Co-Artistic Director Charly. This piece will explore dialogue and exchange across styles.

📅 Commitment Requirements 
Selected artists must commit to the full collaborative process, including:
• Rehearsals: November 29, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM & December 5, 2026 | 1:00PM – 5:00 PM
• Rehearsal & Performance: December 6, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 7:30 PM (Doors open at 5:00PM, show starts 5:30PM) 

⚠️ If you cannot commit to these dates and times, please do not apply. Applications will be voided if availability is not confirmed.

💰 Artist Support 
Each participating artist/company will receive:

• $500 stipend
• Up to 20 hours of free rehearsal space at Mignolo Arts Center for the collaborative process
