We can't wait to perform Shostakovich’s First Violin Concerto with Alena Baeva tomorrow night! A full-circle moment for Brussels, bringing back the very concerto she played at the Queen Elisabeth Competition Final back in 2005, this time to the Flagey stage.

What an incredible weekend at Flagey for Verdi’s Requiem! Led by Kazushi Ono, with the immense vocal power of Vlaams Radiokoor and Octopus Kamerkoor prepared by Bart Van Reyn, alongside soloists Aphrodite Patoulidou, Estelle Defalque, Denzil Delaere, and Dohoon Lee.

Quite a stage for our final rehearsal today… 👀

Two new faces with us: soprano Aphrodite Patoulidou and bass Dohoon Lee are stepping in for Louise Foor and Alexandre Duhamel, who are unable to perform due to illness. Together with Estelle Defalque and Denzil Delaere, they complete our soloist line-up for Verdi’s Requiem this weekend.

A huge thank you to Aphrodite and Dohoon for jumping in at such short notice, and our warmest wishes to Louise and Alexandre for a speedy recovery. 💜
